Could you elaborate on the perks of using your old Pokerstars ID? For someone who was a Bronze star with no VPPs, what would the benefits be? I'd assume FTP ranks won't count in this tier matching promo.

Seems like it would fall under the same jurisdictional overseer with the same laws being applicable.

I was actually on the phone with the top regulator overseeing pari-mutual pools in Arizona discussing a math discrepancy of a pari-mutual payout at Turf Paradise, and was told there was money being bet in Germany that was part of the pool that was a different take out rate (rake).

I'm almost positive that Monmouth Park and Meadowlands (New Jersey horse racing tracks) have their pari-mutual pools together with international bettors as well. While I'm sure your army of corporate lawyers have already looked into the law, it seems un-constitutional to allow horse racing pari-mutual pools to be international, and yet, poker tournament pools, which is the same premise of gambling player vs player pari-mutual pools with a house take out, is restricted to New Jersey residents only.

Pretty sure horse racing specifically has a lot of special carveouts in laws.

Also, pretty sure that the New Jersey law specifically requires that all players be located in New Jersey, but leaves open the possibility to enter into compacts with other states to include players in such other states.

I'm not going to look for and read the actual statutes right now though to confirm.

It would be cool if we could DL the nj poker client and get ID verified before the site launches real money games. I know on one or 2 of the nj poker sites it took me a week to get verified. I know some others had similar probs.

For anyone wondering how many star points (or whatevs they go by) you can DL the play money row version (think its .net?)and see them.

I only have enough points ( if nj and row points store are the same) for 1 11$ tik. I hate my PS name so I'm just going to flush those points and set up a new screen name.

It would be nice if you could sign in using your old PS name and then do a one time name change esp for people with lots of points or a high VIP level.

Pokerstars Dylan, can we get a few tournament and guarantee spoilers?

Because poker is poker, and horse racing is horse racing, and US gambling laws are silly. But this is a discussion/debate that has been had in many other threads; this really isn't the place for it.

Less than 2 weeks this is gonna be great!!!!!!

With 9 million people in NJ I sure hope they are planning on having some commercials. And let's face it guys,,, we are all tired of the dumb, lame 'betfair' casino commercials in NJ every hour. If betfair can have commercials I hope stars can.

Would also be interested in limits available and if the rake structure will mirror row's rake structure(which is very fair imo).

Also, if you picked a dumb screen name that's your fault. Either keep your name and the points or change it and start new. How much clearer do you want him to make it?

I can't speak for all of my colleagues, but I still monitor and post in the VIP Club thread. Many of my colleagues still keep an eye on the forums as well.

NJ players are receiving 1.6 StarsCoin/FPP because unlike ROW players who had 2 months notice to redeem their FPPs at the best possible rate via purchasing Tournament Tickets or playing in FPP satellites, NJ players did not have that opportunity.

Dylan

Any news on if you guys are going to end up building that much rumored poker room in resorts?
03-08-2016 , 07:45 AM
Dylan,

What can the Stars coins be used for? Doing my conversion of 1.6 x FFP's I would have over 6k in Stars coins. Is it 1:1 for tourney tickets or what other redeeming quality will they have?

Will there be a time in the future when we can get credit for our FTP points earned or Iron man status?

Thank you,

rara

Where am I supposed to log in with my existing account? On the pokerstars web site I don't see any log in option. I downloaded the client, which downloaded the .net client, and logged in. I didn't see any review information option after I logged in, just news.

Please add a link to the page we log in the OP to where we start the process.

I expect geolocation technology to be similar to competitors. I've spoken to a colleague who specializes in this area, and he advised that in your case it could be an issue of wifi triangulation or "prohibited software" being detected. If it's wifi triangulation, he recommends getting a wifi extender.

We are committed to solving issues like this, so if you experience the same problem on PokerStars NJ, please get in touch with support@pokerstarsnj.com and we will do our best to solve the issue with you.

Currently announced incentives for signing up at launch are the aforementioned VIP status and StarsCoin based on play history, as well as entry to play in the $25,000 "We are in New Jersey" Freeroll for players who sign-up within the first week of launch. The Freeroll will run on March 27 at 17:00 ET. There is more planned for launch that I'm unable to announce at this time. Stay tuned!

It will not be identical but will have many similarities. There is currently no VIP Club integration at launch with Brick & Mortar and our partners Resorts. The VIP Steps method of earning rewards launched earlier this year for ROW will be used in PokerStars NJ to earn StarsCoin. StarsCoin will identically be valued at $0.01 USD. The full details of our PokerStars NJ VIP Club will be available for launch on our website, but for those curious here are some of the key differences.

With NJ being a closed liquidity market, VIP status requirements will be lowered for our higher VIP statuses. Below are the planned PokerStars NJ VIP Status requirements and rewards based on rake paid. Note that this is based on 5.5 VPPs/$1 rake and the range of rewards reflects fluctuation depending on your VIP Steps progress at the end of the month/year.

Supernova - 50,000 yearly VPPs, will award 27-30%

PlatinumStar - 4,000 monthly VPPs, will award 22-25%

GoldStar - 2,000 monthly VPPs, will award 17-21%

SilverStar - 500 monthly VPPs, will award 15-18%

ChromeStar - 100 monthly VPPs, will award 12-15%

BronzeStar - no VPP requirement, will award 8-9%

There will be no VIP Tournaments schedule for launch, but we plan on running a number of value/seat-added VIP Bash Satellites to our marquee events throughout the year.

Specific details of our game offering and stakes won't be revealed until launch. We will be offering a wide variety of games, which will include a large number of mixed games.

If you were a BronzeStar with no StarsCoin balance (and aren't concerned about your Play Money chips), the ease of the Quick Account Creation process is the main perk of using your old PokerStars ID. Otherwise feel free to open a new PokerStars NJ account.

Full Tilt VIP statuses are not included in the sign-up offer.

You'll be able to redeem your StarsCoin for Tournament and Spin & Go Tickets, VIP Cash Rebates (cash directly credited to your account), and PokerStars merchandise. StarsCoin will have a value of $0.01.

As mentioned above I'm seeking info on the FTP Points migration question.

You aren't able to start the process of creating your PokerStars NJ account until launch. Apologies if that wasn't clear in the OP.

Thanks,
Dylan

Hey gags, thanks for the welcome . We're excited to finally be so close to launch.

Can't yet comment on Zoom games, but the feedback has been passed on to our Ring Games Manager.

Thanks,
Dylan

So if I am to understand correct from this post, with vip status being assigned from past play history, a multiple time supernova elite would be granted supernova status from the start, and that status would last through the entire year?

That's correct, you'll be a Supernova VIP until the end of 2016.

Well, I suppose the silver lining here is that I won't get sucked back into grinding all day. If I'd gotten my FTP status reinstated, I probably would have, but I'm not going to start from scratch after putting years of work into it.

I want to create an account on .nj but I don't want to lose my .com account because I also travel outside the us to play on that account is that an issue?

Hi,

How will players with row account in these situations be handled?

-Created account underage on pokerstars before April 2011
-Banned for cheating before April 2011
-Self excluded before April 2011
-Account balance in negative from echeck bounce
-Account closed for any other reason

Will they be eligible for old vip status?

Will they be allowed to play at all?

(just curious )
03-08-2016 , 04:08 PM
Can we play on the FTP skin in NJ?

Hey Dylan, how's that poker room inside Resorts going? Any updates on when planning and construction will begin?
03-08-2016 , 07:38 PM
If someone is granted Supernova VIP status do we still have to maintain a certain amount of VPP's per month to keep it? Might be difficult when the site 1st launches if there aren't that many games.
