a lot of the town is closed or on short hours for the winter months, Sunrise Cafe on asbury (think 12th strt) is pretty great for breakfast / early lunch

Based on your original post it seems you want to ride a bike to the event or just in general? if its to the event this will be a pretty long ride but in general OC is great for riding and very relaxing / quiet in winter

Anyone having a problem with the client freezing lately? It has been freezing on me sporadically on various actions (opening the cashier, regging for spin and goes, maybe some other things). It's super annoying because I often in spin and goes when it happens and I have to hard kill the client, restart it, and hope I don't miss any hands.

Been happening for about a week. I am on Windows 7.

Dylan did someone already ask, are there any discounted room rates at resorts for the series?
10-14-2016 , 11:06 AM
Also, will there be wifi in the tourney room that will be good enough to get geolocated to be able to play online?

Thank you. I'm excited to be back on Stars next weekend, even if it is just PokerStarsNJ. See you guys at the tables!

You can check any tickets you may have won on the desktop client by going to Tools -> My Games & Tickets -> Tournament Tickets

Glad it appears to be fixed. Let me know if anyone is still having issues with this.

Have passed this feedback on to the casino team.

I've inquired about the wifi, will get back to you ASAP.

On a side-note, it was an exciting first NJCOOP weekend for us; thanks to all who participated. Special shout-out to "BOnEheAd109" who took down NJCOOP-04 yesterday for nearly $20K!

Best of luck to everyone the rest of the way.

Dylan

FYI, was able to get a slightly cheaper room than those Dylan linked to via kayak and then hotels.com. At least for Nov 1-4th

I ended up booking a room at Bally's and I'll hoof it over. Worth saving like 100 bucks a day. There are also a couple of hotels/motels even closer for around 50-80 a night, but obviously the motels are like 2 stars, the hotels are better (looking, I've never been there.)

they did the same thing during NJSCOOP and it was brought up then too. You'd think they'd learn, but guess not.

Any chance we can get cash games with antes?

I know liquidity is an issue, so what if we just made all 2/5 and higher have antes? Thoughts?

It's day 3 of trying to deposit at the cage and still can't get a call back or response from stars.

I've written in on the support form onside the app and also the desktop program but have not heard back yet. In total I've tried about 10 times.

At the cage they tell me my account has not been setup fully and that my social is missing.

I am using my old stars account from tears ago and when I set it up a month ago it all looked good and they gave my super nova even.

This would be my first deposit if that means anything.

I read that they have no way to call them directly, but something isn't right about just ignoring customers with no way to contact them i think.

Anyone had any similar issues like this at all?

Is there a place where the NJCOOP leaderboard is displayed and if not can we please get that? I feel like this was requested a fair amount during SCOOP so not sure why it wouldn't be available for this series.

Im sure this has been covered...but it is ABSURD that when you have a geolocation issue while playing in cash games, which of course is because of the terrible location system they have in place, Pokerstars NJ instantly has you booted from the tables. Instead of disconnecting you/sitting you out and giving you at least 5-10 minutes to let you get relocated, you are instantly kicked off of the games. In tournaments you are disconnected and sat out, why can this not happen in cash games? None of the other sites do this, and it is a disaster protocol. I cannot believe that this has not been changed. I have addressed this with support for months, nothing is being done about it. What is going on?

They finally allowed me to deposit last night which is good.

The bad side is they said they have no information on a deposit that I made at the cage and that I need to take my receipt back to the cage in atlantic city to see what is going on.

I am not going to be in atlantic city for another 3 weeks are they allowed to just hold my money until I can get back to the cage?

Something doesn't seem right about this...

I'll see if I can get an update for you on whether this will be addressed in upcoming software updates.

I can now confirm that there will be excellent Wifi throughout the tournament area during the festival so you shouldn't have any trouble if you wanted to dip online as well.

That does sound like a strange case. Have you heard back from Support yet? If not feel free to send me a PM with your PokerStars NJ UserID and I can look into it.

Being looked into, we hope to have it up on the website shortly.

Got a quick answer on this one. It is a known issue, and a fix is being built (the good news). The bad news is that our software releases are not as agile in NJ as in other markets as the approval process is a bit different. To that end, it's unlikely this will be fixed anytime soon but it is in the pipeline and the fix will be deployed at some point in the future. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I bet you've already looked into this, but just in case, have you been in touch with our tech support team regarding optimizing your connection to avoid these geolocation issues to begin with?

Dylan

I had Geolocation issues while I was around 30-40 miles away from PA
10-21-2016 , 03:33 PM
Quick fix I've found when having geolocation issues or when I've been booted.

Close the client.

Turn off wireless connectivity on your computer.

Relaunch client with wireless still off. As client is searching for connection turn back on your wireless networks.

Login and it should locate you very quickly. This has worked most of the time fwiw. I can't go more than a few hours without it kicking me off recently. Hope this helps somebody.

Anyone try installing custom themes?

I bought one from pokerlayout.eu that definitely works on the normal pokerstars client, but I can't get it to work on this client.

Yes I made sure the install i directory was changed, and all files installed correctly, but it gives me an error of "low system resources" when I try and apply the theme.

Edit: and yes someone from pokerstars finally emailed me after they hunted down the money I deposited and everything is good now, but geez what a mess depositing at the cage.

I'm glad you got this worked out.

FWIW, the cage does have contact information for NJ Support and should be able to contact them, except overnight. So if it happens again for anyone, please get us details like date/time and the name of the Resorts Cashier so we can investigate and find out if training is needed.

Hey guys looking for a little info about going down to AC for the Pokerstars Festival..

So whats the room rate information? I havnt been getting any clear cut answers from anyone and before I call to find out, hopefully someone on here knows.

Are any of the rooms discounted for tournament players? Or is there some code I can enter if I reserve room online? Ive never stayed at resorts before and I know borgata discounts the room rates if you show them your tournament tix prior to leaving (for the bigger series at least)

I am looking to stay fri nov 4 - sunday the 6th

Hi, Dylan:

Did you check with the event organizer on the times for the 3000+300? An 8pm day 1 start with a 12pm day 2 restart just seems weird; only 16 hours between the start and the restart. Can you also check on how long day 1 goes for and what the structure is?

I've looked on the site and I can't find a structure for this tournament or any phone number to call to check on that and the other questions stated above. I'm assuming the structure is at least as good as the structure they have posted for 2000 tourneys.

Thank you very much.
