Hopefully we'll see as many PS commercials as the onslaught of Betfair commercials that are run here.

Please no zoom
Please take it easy on the spin and gos
If you want to retain your .COM, or any other real money licensed account and play on PokerStars NJ as well, please create a NEW PokerStars NJ account and do not go through the "Quick Account Creation" process which would migrate your .COM assets over and close your .COM account.

No updates. I'm not involved in this aspect, but my understanding is that it's a conversation that is ongoing with Resorts.

I'm a little confused by this, are you saying if we sign up with the same username that we have as on the ROW site our account there will be automatically closed? Or just if you use the "quick account creation" process this would happen? In other words there would be another way to keep your same name without automatically closing your Row account. Just don't use this quick process in order to keep both open. I say this as someone who has relocated outside the us to play again after april 15 2011.

Also you said it would migrate my assets over from the .com row site. So any money I have in my regular pokerstars.com account currently would be given to me through my NJ account if I opened it using the "quick account creation" process?

And thirdly since it was mentioned that your vip level was based on previous play. If my understanding is true and you choose a different screen name to keep your row account active, is there a way to match up your new account name with previous play with your old account name?

You do realize this will just be a slightly better version of all the other NJ sites. The same crappy player pool that can barely get an Omaha game going, so no shot at 8 game running more than heads up 99% of the time...

That depends on the poker public opinion and how much of a media/commercial blitz that takes place. Also I'm guessing there will be a migration from the other sites to this one. Meaning more games at all stakes will take place.

The biggie in all this is the tourney structure to the average player. Who doesn't grind a table or two while also playing in an MTT?

The launch is two weeks away and you still have not instructed anyone where the software can be downloaded from. The pokerstarsnj.com page doesn't have any links to download the software either. I click on the Facebook page that is linked on that page, and it says "sorry, this content isn't available right now".

With sooo many years to prepare, how come everything seems so last minute?

PokerStars NJ software will be available to be downloaded from the PokerStars NJ homepage from March 16 from approx. 4pm ET onward as this is when the necessary software testing period begins.

Player numbers will be capped at 500 during the five-day testing period, with play available at the following times:

March 16/17: 16:00-Midnight ET (8 hours)
March 18: 08:00-Midnight ET (16 hours)
March 19/20: Play available 24 hours a day

Regards,
Dylan

It's a regulated market now and as much as PS wants to run things the state still has to approve everything, just like they did when the other programs were rolled out.

What is the reason non US residents cannot play? All the other sites let me play as long as I am physically located in New Jersey or Nevada. I am Canadian. Bye bye stars both in Canada and the US.

Dylan,

When I played on PS, I had an RSA token, which I have lost along with the password sheet. Will this affect my ability to move over to the NJ site? Also, I was able to log into the play money software with restricted access hoping to check my FPP/StarsCoin balance and player status, but it wasn't listed there. Is there a way for me to do so?

I haven't played poker since it all went to hell in 2010/2011. I've looked at the NJ sites, but kept holding out hope that PokerStars would return because I simply hated the software I saw elsewhere. Glad you're back!

Thanks,
Steve

You can play, you just need a SSN. I'm Canadian and I have a US SSN. It's a piece of cake to get it. It will say "not eligible for work" on it but whatever, you just need the number.

Dylan, will an ITIN do, or does it have to be SS? I think it is easier for people to get ITIN.

not sure which ones but some of the casino only sites asked for ssn when signed up and others didnt. dont remember what poker sites asked for it (either full or partially) always thought it was wierd. my guess is if its only supposed to be us residents they want to make sure the us gov gets the tax money as applicable

I have an ITIN, but he said SSN. Will just buying a US postbox be sufficient for that requirement?

Afaik when signing up your ssn is used to verify your identity, not for tax purposes

Will there be iOS and Android apps available for the launch? If so, can they be used to register using a previous PS username?

Thanks!

i know im expecting too much but damn it would be nice if PSNJ 1. runs non nlhe games like 8 game or 10 game and 2. run some promos that are specific to those games to at least try to get them running.

again im in dream land right know im sure. but a variety of games and an effort to get them running would be a welcome addition to the all NLH world we live in.

+1

definately agree w this. borgata has some interest w stud games that run pm daily no guarantee 5$ buy in . havent logged in in a while but they did have some steady interest. other games would be nice. 888 runs omaha variety freerolls daily which have decent interest which is nice to get others playing the format

a while back i dl'd the pokerstars.net (?) client. you can play in play money games and watch real money ROW games being played.

i can check my stars coin balance by logging in> clicking ok to a " people in US cant play in real money games" pop up> clicking on cashier and points total is near the bottom.

Thanks. I think the problem is, because I lost my RSA token, I can only login with restricted access, so I don't have access to the data I need.
