There is no auto-reload at the moment. Try not losing any hands your stack won't need to be topped up then.

are the rumours true that the mobile version doesn´t have any deposit option (due to the 30 % fee by apple for in-app-purchases) ?

It's true it doesn't have any signup or cashier options right now. Not sure of the reasoning re. in-app purchases. Someone above said that their are sports betting apps that have in-app cashier, haven't been able to confirm this though.

Apple explicitly started to allow real money gambling games on the device and it seems short-sighted for them to think deposits should face a 30% fee (thus making all real money gambling apps impossible to operate at a profit).

Well they don't obstruct them operating at a profit, just that deposits have to be made outside iOS. 30% seems exorbitant no matter what the App but then Apple supplies the infrastructure to make money which otherwise wouldn't be there. It makes sense to apply this globally across all Apps since loopholes could be created and policing would become more difficult. If that isn't clear imagine Amazon Poker where you get books by "depositing".

Yeah somebody could pretend to sell golfballs and instead credit your poker account...

I guess that for most apps, depositing outside the App is not allowed anyway; otherwise no app would have in-app deposits and just launch a browser window and do all deposits all through the website. Ongame skins already have web-based cashiers that pop up from the application, so it seems real money games already have some kind of special exception there.

The loop hole isn't really an issue because all Apps already go through an extensive application process that involves user testing, source code review etc. So "Amazon Poker" would easily be rejected as a clear attempt to fool the system. It's a pretty simple check - is this app in the 'real money gambling' category (itself with very extensive 'responsible gambling' and licensing requirements and vetting process) where players play online games for money that permits withdrawals? Okay low transaction fees. Is it actually something thinly masquerading as a gambling game when really they are just trying to call 'books' 'deposits'? reject.

The 30% is exorbitant for all apps, but they can run at a profit with in-app purchases. Real money poker games are unique (the ability to withdraw, PvP play) that literally make a 30% transaction fee impossible to use. As Apple specifically allowed real money gambling recently, i assume they did this with the consultation of people in the industry and were told this - it's no benefit to Apple to maintain the 30% for real money poker apps because it's simply way too high to be considered. Something like 5% however could be very beneficial for both parties and bring apple a boat-load in transaction fees.

Maybe it is a lot simpler... maybe that part of programming simply takes a lot of time and is not "essential" to the initial launch of the product? Also maybe PS is happy to have ppl visit their website...

I'm sure its on the radar. One of the big +s of mobile is new player acquisition, and without in-app signups and deposits it's a big barrier.

Could the app assume that we sit down, and not sit us out until we confirm we are there, very annoying to have the first hand in a tournament folded just because you play on the app and not on the client, where such a confirmation is not required

Bit of feedback if Stars are still watching this thread. Placeholders need to be added so you can move seats when tables get short handed, currently if you click on a player and select sit here it moves your position relatively, I know you can do that a few times and eventually get your preferred position, but still, placeholders would be more elegant.
A few times I've lost visibility of my cards, nothing there not even the backs in my name box. I know at least once it was after switching tables, the other tables were fine. The other times it's been when I switched apps during breaks, came back during the first hand and xouldn't see it. That could be iOS related though.
A roller in place of or in addition or as an option to the slider would be nice, they tend to work much quicker and feel more natural, custom bet size buttons (bet %ofpot/bb*X) would be a really welcome addition too if screen space is available, it is on the iPad at least.

Hi m00sy & Others,

Yes, we are still watching this thread. The mobile team is tracking all issues & comments that are posted here, reviewing them with the developers and working to improve the product. An update is scheduled for release mid-March. Some of these issues will be resolved in that update, and it will have a few other improvements as well. We'll post release notes here, so you can know what has changed version/version.

Thank you all for your feedback. Please keep it coming.

Best regards,

Jeffrey

I'm not even all that stoked to play poker on my phone, but playing an MTT or a couple SNGs on a Tablet seems pretty cool.
It will be counter productive for them to comment on any timings for other markets, becuase those releases are likely contingent on negotiations with, & approvals from local governments / regulators. Such bodies are generally populatd with power happy beaurecrats, and the easiest way to piss such people off is to try to prempt "their" decision. Public speculation by Stars on release dates will therefore be -ev for all concerned, even if the chance of such speculation getting back to the ears of the relevant decision makers is slim.

Another bug report, this might be harder to replicate because it only seems to happen when I'm deep in multiple MTT's although this might be because I check tourney stats much more often then. The menu view becomes stuck over the table - see image, not allowing me to complete any action until action is required on the table it occurred on. I had three tables running and had two exclamation marks on the other two and had to let them timeout because the hand on the table I was on was taking so long. Hope this helps.

I had this happen last night. I was playing a single sit n go (12 seat 6 max). Not a show stopper in those circumstances but have played on the app from the day of release and it hasnt happened before. Once it started it happened every time for the remainder of the tournament.
