Thanks Hood,

I can see some countries having to go to the pokerstars site and downloading it from there. Like if we play on the .com site we should be able to play the mobile

I'll offer my opinion though (and this is no way related to anything i heard in the IOM so it's purely just my speculation) and that is Canada is probably low or not on the list for PokerStars Mobile. If PS is planning to roll this out country by country, and with Italy first and now only the UK today it seems that way, then i would expect to see next France, Denmark, Belgium and Spain once that goes live in the 2nd half of the year. It appears PS are rolling it out where it is crystal-clear it operates in white regulated online gaming market. This is likely in part due to restrictions to get in to the Apple App Store in each country.

OMG, so jealous of all of those who can use this! I have been waiting for the day that this was available, and of course it doesn't come to Canada...

Does this kinda thing absolutely kill your data though? I only have 500 MB/month and usually use about 150-200 if I'm using it a fair bit while at work.

Good question...whats the data usage like on this?.

I wouldnt imagine much data at all would be used.

I think people may have to use there head on this one signal is the biggest factor.

At work just on a dinner break seems feasible to me by no means can the mobile version compare to online imo but if you have a good signal and are just twiddling your finders you can easly load up a cash table or sit n go,I personally could not sit through a torny but all the same loving the app

Edit:People with fat fingers may struggle dependent on witch phone you have.

on the FAQ it states that playing 1 table for 1 hour will use about 1MB download and 500KB upload.

I think it would be a good idea to have mobile only tables.

do you have 'allow non-market apps' ticked on in your settings? not sure if it's a required step

previously real money gambling wasnt allowed by apple for apps, theres quite a few uk only gambling ones now.

lack of poker was holding me back from an ipad, bwin app was ok but didnt have the slickness of this.

Due to local goverment regulations, access to your account on the PokerStars site is not permitted from the country you are currently visiting. We regret any inconvenience

WTF?

I thought the Istore T and C didn't allow real money gambling apps.

Yeah, seems like you have to both have a Brit account and be connecting from an IP address inside the UK :-(

This outright ban was lifted I believe in early to mid 2010, although it's still very restrictive. I don't know of any other real money poker apps in the app store, there's a few live sports betting apps from betfair and a couple of others i believe, and a casino or two. Not sure on bwin's app?

Android, on the other hand, doesn't allow any real money gambling apps, but it's easy to install apps from outside the goog marketplace.

well I picked a good month to buy an iphone and also quit online poker.

With 3 or 4 table max (whatever it is) it will be good for you guys when they bring in their version of rush.

Works well on the HTC Desire.

This is an excellent back up option if you get deep in a tournament and your internet goes down. Does anyone know what happens if you try and log in with 5+ tournaments on the go?
