New: I need a little bit of space on the screen to watch video when using Picture-in-Picture. There's almost enough room in the top-left when the video is made its smallest, but the one player's hand gets covered.

New: More people to play Razz and Stud H/L. Micro-stakes Sit & Go's, some micro-stakes tournaments, at least one?

Old and Urgent: Draw games.

Old: A web-browser window where the tables are. So I can browse the internet while playing on slow tables. Then it would snap-back when action is required.
Thanks for the suggestions/requests old and new - they have all been shared with the team.

It's not a bug, but we agree the design should be improved in this area when we do a redesign of the table.

There is no option to turn off avatars on mobile, sorry.

Okay, thanks. The team doesn't think the integrated browser will happen - just a matter of priorities and resources. We have quite a long list of improvements for the mobile app already.

I'm not sure - could you post a screenshot, please? I know we have a bug with avatars, but not sure it is related.

Are you saying the FT dog replaced your own avatar, or that you're seeing it at your table as the avatar of another player?

I've never used an avatar on PokerStars, now I have the FT dog. I tried the Full-Tilt software after migrating my FT account. Then, after the last PokerStars update, the dog is showing.

I'm not sure if it is showing just to me or to everyone. I've asked at the table, "Is my avatar a dog?" but no one responds. When I open PokerStars on the Mac, it doesn't show an image when I open the settings.

I really hate avatars, I don't want to look at demons, cats or babies, and it would be so easy to program the client to not show them.

I also noticed this strange behaviour the other day, one player's image was going to be displayed, it was showing like it was half-way through a transition, half-faded to white. It sat there for a moment, then blinked out and showed the default graphic.

I think that fewer avatars are showing. Maybe there were file formats being used in the Full-Tilt software that are not handled in the PokerStars software.

This behavior is most likely due to a known bug we have with the avatars, which should be corrected in the next round of regular updates expected in late June.

I'm still checking on your dog avatar as I suspect it may not be due to the bug and is related to account migration.

The team thinks this is due to one aspect of the avatar bug, so we'll have to check back after we deploy the corrected code for that, which should be in the next few weeks.

Why does the mobile app requests root?

Our mobile app requires extensive permissions in part due to regulatory and security considerations. However, it should not be explicitly requesting root. So, if it is, then we should investigate further. Would it be possible for you to capture a screenshot of the root request, and let us know further details of your device and O/S, as well as the build version of the app?

Yes, our iOS app is gone from the App Store but only for the Netherlands - however the existing app will continue to work indefinitely for those players who already have it installed on their mobile devices.

App is PokerStarsEU version 1.62.0.13692
Device is Nexus 10.
Android version 6.0.1
Rom: https://omnirom.org/
I know my set up is far from a standard one but still, hope it won’t get ignored. Can provide more info if needed.

I have denied root requests so far and was able to play withouth any problems. I dled the app off the official website but am a bit worried.

Edit:
I could provide a detailed log of the root access but I am too worried about the integrity of my account so that would have to be ensured in the first place.

Thanks for the additional info - I have forwarded to the team for review.

Update:

After review, the team responds that we do not support unsupported ROMs in mobile devices. We tested the Nexus 6 updated to the same OS version as you have and we were able to install the PokerStars app and play without any root requests - as expected.

As you probably know, Nexus 10 isn't supported by Google for the version of Android you are running, and you're using a 3rd-party app (ominrom) to force it. As to why this setup is requesting root, we do not know offhand and the developers won't spend time trying to recreate and debug an unsupported device (they have quite a few tasks of higher priority ).

I'm sorry, but there is nothing more we can do about it at this time.

How, is there a new web client? Do you have a link?

Haven't checked it out in detail but played a few hands of play money.

Dear sqwerty12

You can now play poker on your iOS device in your country.

You don't have to download any apps, simply open the PokerStars website in Safari and click 'Play Now' to start playing.

Hey, sorry if this has been answered before, but I have the following issue : Sometimes, not very often, like let's say 1/10 times I launch the Android mobile app, the touchscreen doesn't work over the fold/call/raise section of the app screen. I can logout, check the menu etc but I'm unable to act on the hand. Is there a fix for this?

I may be wrong but last night when I was playing a tourney from my tablet, I couldn't see any info about the tourney blind structure where it was a turbo or a hyper, when exactly the late reg period would end (simply telling late reg is available doesn't help), how many places paid - no info about it when playing sng satellite??

Also, is there any way to skip the update on phone? I know you could skip the forced update on desktop versions but what about on phone?

Unfortunately, the mobile app is not on par with the desktop in some areas, and at-table Tournament info is one of them.

We plan to add starting stack info in the next build, but full parity with the level of info available at tables on desktop is a long way off (i.e. not this year, for sure). In order to get those details you'd have to tap away from the table to navigate to the Tournament Lobby, which is admittedly not convenient. Sorry.

Regarding software updates for mobile apps, there is no way to skip them on Android, and going forward from this next build there will be no way to skip them on iOS devices.

Since the new update (yesterday) it seems to have flaw.

When searching a player, it brings up the number of tables that a player is currently playing. Click on a table it will open up. Prior to the update if you then press lobby it takes you back to all the tables said player was playing in a snapshot, however now it kicks you out of that function entirely and takes you to the actual lobby. You have to go back in and search again which is a pain and repeat the whole process to observe other tables.

Also, it's probably been said many times no doubt. Player to player transfers are needed. Obv security is main concern but a 2-3 step authentication process can be be applied surely.

Thanks.
