Update on 6 Feb from v1.5 to v1.9
What's new only states: Various improvements and minor bug fixes.

Anyone know what these "improvements" are and if the upgrade should be done?

The reason I am asking is that the last time an upgrade was made, which I downloaded straight away, it did not work which meant the app did not work for a while.

The details of the upgrade are very vague so if anyone has already upgraded then it would be appreciated if this could be shared.

Hi All,

Catching-up on this thread, here are some answers to your recent questions:

Thank you for reporting this bug! The developers are looking into this to see what the problem might be.

No. We currently do not have software that runs on Blackberry devices, either phones or tablets. However, if their new devices become very popular, we will seriously consider developing software for them. For now, we are on the sidelines.

We have the exact same position for Windows Mobile today.

If you're in France, go to http://www.pokerstarsmobile.fr on a mobile device. If you're somewhere else, email support@pokerstars.com for guidance.

Cannot believe that it is not possible somewhere to request all hands played on mobile devices to email. I try my best to go and request the hands after a session but there is a bunch missing, especially since you can only request the latest 100 (a half workaround is to request the last x hours which I believe can send you up to 200 hands in an email).

2) ADD WAITINGLIST!
I understand the argument but a bunch of us plays games/stakes that are not spread like NL50 and if you go to flsh 2/4e on pokerstars.es for example then there is often ONE game running and even if you are okay by sitting down by yourself at a new table, you still want to play on the table. Especially if you only can play for like 30 minutes.

3) NOTES OR COLORCODING
Would be nice to be able to colorcode players at least. The note-file from the desktopversion is only 30 kb or so which shouldnt make it all that hard to have it in a cloudsolution. If the amount of data is a problem then make it something for the higher level VIPs at least, I am a platinumstar and would also pay some fpps for this option.

PS; Please add all the features to pokerstars.es (spanish) which is the one I am currently playing at.
Thanks for your suggestions!

1 - There are currently only two options for mobile poker players to retrieve their hand histories:
- Request up to 200 hand histories from the mobile client directly, which will be sent to your registered email address.
- Email support@pokerstars.com to request your hand histories for the last X hands/days/weeks/months/lifetime. Note that they cannot sort out only the Mobile hands - it's all or nothing.

We are aware of the challenges players have with these methods today, particularly when they want to aggregate hand histories from both desktop and mobile play. We are looking at some options to improve the experience. There's no ETA today for when we will have other options available.

2 - Waiting list is on our development plan.

3 - Sharing player notes cross-platform through some kind of cloud-based solution is something we have been discussing, but we have not yet agreed how to best proceed with this.

As for making all functionality available on pokerstars.es, that is our plan!

Thanks for your positive comments & suggestions. Button location will be improved shortly, and preferred seat will be considered by product team. As for the functionality of sending mobile hands by email, see about 3 comments above.

Google's policy is that no real money gaming apps are allowed on Google Play, so we have only free-play software available there. If you go to our website (i.e. http://www.pokerstars.com) on your mobile device, it should be quite straightforward to download and install our RM Android software onto a Nexus 4.

Given that the whole mobile hardware industry is moving towards manufacturing devices with ever-higher resolutions, it is highly unlikely we will redesign the Android App to support lower resolutions. It's contrary to the trend, and a significant undertaking.

The rather-generic "Various improvements and minor bug fixes" is actually quite legitimate, given that there are many small improvements and bug fixes included in this update. It includes improved Run It Twice support, improved iPhone5 support, better menus for Account information, more content in the 'More' section, improved error-handling in various situations, etc. Most of the changes are fairly subtle, and you should expect more substantial content improvements to be seen in the next few months. I wholly recommend the update!

Cheers,

Jeffrey

Poker Tatsu, any idea why it is not working in Aus now? Have used previously a few months ago, updated today, and now says login is not possible from my area.

(Apologies if already discussed, only phone and couldn't see it.)

Edit: didn't have Location Services allowed for PS, sorted.

I have detected a bug. When logging in from a timeout the client didnt ask for my pin.

Aso i had an ad on ps.eu "Mobile Web-Kassenbereich" but when trying to download it it says not available in my country (CH).

When i try to convert hands i got via email from the mobile client i get errors all the time "header unknown".

It seems to me that this update is kind of non-update from the user stand-point, as the most urgent problem isn't solved, like the call button emerges over the sit-out button.

Is there an timeframe to solve this bug?

This is good feedback, which I have also passed on to the team. FYI that we are adding additional configuration options to upcoming releases (i.e. the 'Discuss a Deal' option that currently exists in the desktop poker game client) and planning various other desktop features that are clearly also required for mobile.

Cheers,

Jeffrey

After nearly 10 months has this option to turn off admin messages been implemented?

And as others are saying to move the sit-out button?

Or is this not such an issue for PS?

1 - Our developers are looking at this
2 - Switzerland (CH) is a .COM country, not an .EU country. That is probably why you experienced this.
3 - I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "convert hands" but generally all trackers and online converters require hand histories to be in English. If you're getting hand histories in any other language (German, French) then it probably won't work. Please email support@pokerstars.com for further assistance with this issue.

As a matter of fact, there *IS* a timeframe for addressing this! I have been playing the most-current dev version (iOS 1.9.1.4) on my iPad today, and see a vast improvement. Our programmers devised a really great solution for this issue, which I hope you're happy with. We hope to be submitting to the App Store next week, and hopefully that means you'll be playing it a few weeks later!

1 - Admin message handling is on our queue of improvements to make, but has not been a priority item given other issues we have been addressing.

2 - As per above, this will be resolved in our next update.

Today the app didnt ask for a pin at all when logging in once.

I experienced a very disturbing "location error" twice. What happened to my hands and why did this occur at all? I was in CH all the time.

So many comments!
- You mentioned above about contacting support to get the mobile version of stars.fr. They told me that this is only available in France or French territories. Are there any plans to change this?
- The SNG filters on the app could be made much better. Just now you can only filter to low ($0.01 to $20) and the next one is $20-200! There are just far too many buyins within these filters. The amount of times I've clicked into a $1.50 trying to play a $15! Also makes me scared to play $30s in case I accidentally register for a $200! I want to play $15s and $30s which are considered 'middle' buyins on the main site. Maybe levels for 'very low', 'low', 'middle', 'high', 'very high' might be better filters?
- The problem above is intensified by the fact that it is very hard to register for hyper HU turbos. One additional problem is that once you click register there is a massive pop-up about 'battery life, disconnections etc' that doesn't fit on the screen of a mobile. So you have to scroll down and press ok, by which time the HU SNG has often filled. I am all for a pop-up as a safety net for after you click register, but keep it short and simple so that it actually fits on your screen! Like one sentence. On a mobile version everything has to be kept much shorter and simpler. If you want to show the larger terms and conditions then maybe put in a check box option to not show them again?

Other ideas on here I'd like to +1:
- Any way of getting your HHs off the mobile version would be cool. Like an option to email all mobile HHs to your account after each SNG finishes. This isn't a huge priority compared to everything else though since Stars support is very good if you just email and ask for HHs.
- The rematch button for HU SNGs. MASSIVE +1! Like I said registering for (especially hyper) HU SNGs on the mobile version is painful. This would cut out a bunch of this pain easily even if you couldn't implement the suggestions above.

Lastly:
- Email a mod on 2p2 to get your 2p2 username in a different colour like all the other Stars reps on here so we can see your replies more easily. You're just as important as they are

Hello All,

It's been more than a year since we launched our first mobile poker games, and we are making some changes to how we manage mobile products.

We are moving out of the initial incubation phase that focused on creating, releasing and marketing great mobile poker software. Our initial goals have been met, as many players around the world (mostly) love the games we have produced, playing on their tablet and handset devices anytime and anywhere their poker itch needs to be scratched.

It's been an extraordinary time to learn as player behaviours have shifted towards playing across multiple platforms, with some becoming mobile-only. The stories and photographs have been great! The data we have seen has also been fascinating.

Today, we have some good products that continue to improve with each release, and I believe we have made awesome progress in what - in retrospect - was really quite a short period of time (though at the time it seemed like many years). Of course we have much further to go, particularly as consumer trends continue to push towards broader mobile adoption and fewer desktop/laptop purchases.

My own day-to-day involvement with our mobile products has concluded (including my periodic Q&A here in this thread). As my focus will turn elsewhere, my colleague PokerStars Stefan from our Poker Room Management Team is now the Steward who will continue guiding PS Mobile towards the light. Many of you will know him from his excellent work in the **PokerStars Software Improvement Thread*** and I am certain he will provide the same level of diligence and professionalism here in respect to our mobile products.

@A234 - Please PM me with your PS username.

@michty6, @tokeweed – Stefan will reply to you shortly.

@jackmeplz69 – It’s great!

Cheers,

Jeffrey Haas

I've got my Lumia 920 a week ago, and I LOVE it (I like it so much more than my previous Android phone - live tiles rock!). Lumia has everything I need, except for one thing - PokerStars (ideally - with a Windows Live Tile showing the time remaining until my next tournament).

Please, please, please (with a $600 extra deposit on top) - reconsider your decision not to support Windows Phones. Oh, and BTW - if you're trying to chase Zynga on play money market, you should love info that right now there are 33672 players reported to be playing play money on "Texas Holdem Poker" app (by Poker King, whatever this means) on Windows Phones.
