Sigh, the complete unwillingness to give even the roughest indication of a timeline for when it will roll out to countries like canada - or even the likelihood of this happening - is incredibly frustrating. In his tatsu's post he gives timelines for two other details (a week, not till end of the year) but they consistently refuse to give any indication on the rolling out.

I also think it's a bit disingenuous on the pokerstars mobile site to make no reference to this only being available in the UK and Italy.

Why is it that 888 poker offers it's mobile client to every country but stars cannot?

Hi All,

This was fixed on Thursday with a new version release. PokerStars.TV for Mobile 2.0 (iOS only for now) is now available almost everywhere on the App Store. Check it out.

This is something the mobile team has talked about at length, and we like the idea. However, it's far more likely you will see the existing 'Home Games' feature rolled-out for private games on our mobile game client (available over WiFi) before you will see a bluetooth version that can be played offline.

Some insight into our thinking about product evolution:

We have a formidable queue of product features to develop just to bring the mobile game client close to the same level as our desktop game client, and we are prioritizing closing that gap before creating new functionality. Each additional feature presents design challenges due to a much (much) smaller canvas than is available on the desktop client - and we need to ensure it remains usable for people like me with small mobile phones & chubby fingers.

We don't want to just force everything into the handheld and tablet designs without thinking through the user experience or risk cluttering what IMHO is currently a fairly streamlined and elegant interface - and THEN have to fix it to make it more usable later. So we are trying to be careful and measured in how we approach things, which hopefully explains why it SEEMS like we're moving slowly. If you ask my team, we are running flat-out...

"Almost All" is not quite correct, but the pokerstars mobile game client is available in more countries now. It is part of a phased roll-out. As I have written previously, our intent is to expand the availability of mobile poker, but I can't comment on our plans at this time. We appreciate the enthusiasm shown by the poker community for these products, and look forward to receiving feedback - both positive and negative comments are welcome! - as more people can now play.

We are going to be showcasing something quite special at EPT Monte Carlo next week. If you are there, look for the mobile booth and check it out.

Can you at least comment on WHY you can't comment? For some reason, there is a complete refusal to give any indication on even the roughest of timelines (days? weeks? months? years?) for mobile in Canada, or whether it might come at all.

This problem has become even worse now with the launch of the Pokerstars iphone app, as the lobbys are filled very fast and it makes impossible to register for any low stakes husng hyper tournament.

Husngs Hyper-Turbos are one of the most appealing games to play on a phone, since its speed makes it very suitable for when you have to wait between 5-10 minutes in a line or on a train.

PS needs to either implement a register to any button in the app or change the lobby system to give us more tables.

+1. The secrecy is pretty annoying. There must be a big reason since Canada is probably their biggest market.

Yeah what I don't understand is I can plug my iPhone into my laptop and use that to play on pokerstars anywhere or I can use an app to play on my tablet remote connecting to my PC so what difference is there to installing an app that's no longer even in beta to connect to your servers?

At least give us a reason for the delayed roll out Poker Tatsu even if it's a lame / vague one.

First of all, congratz on the app, I downloaded it as soon as it was launched here in Brazil, it looks and plays amazingly!

One minor complaint though: as many of us uses their iphone for listening to music as we play live, is there anyway you can tweak the sound settings as to not to interfere with the ipod? As it is right now, the music will just stop everytime the action is on us, and I have to press play again, making it impossible to do both at the same time.

Thanks for all your feedback, including your many emails. We appreciate all the suggestions for additional features, and your other ideas on how to improve the product.

In response to some questions posted here recently:

We are rolling-out the mobile poker products in multiple stages, with the intent to have them available in as many places as possible in time. We are learning more about this space with every major step we take (and have learned a LOT in the four months since we first went live in Italy, and in the two months since going live in the UK), and refining/changing our plans as we go. In respect to timing for future releases in other countries, we don't always know what the timeline will be, and even if we did, there are often compelling marketing, regulatory, technical and/or competitive reasons not to divulge it here in an open forum where anyone can read it.

I don't want to speculate about what products will be released where, or when. But when I have news, I'll let you know.

The regulatory structure for online poker in Denmark requires that specific technology is built into our products before releasing them there. We are working on doing just that, but I can't provide a specific release date at this time.

Thanks for bringing this up. We have been discussing this with the Poker Room Management team, and will work on developing a solution that addresses it. To set expectations, note that it might take a few months (or more) before it can be released in a product update.

Thanks kraziekk! Glad you are enjoying the App. Your comment about wanting to multi-task both poker and music is very good, and I agree we need to find a way to allow it. We'll look into it.

Options & Filters: We will be adding more of these in the next few months to allow mobile poker players more flexibility in how they use the product.

There seems to be a resounding chorus of opinion here requesting that ZOOM be added to Mobile! Fortunately, this is the one topic in this thread where I can provide a clear answer and time estimate!

The good news is that we are quite far along in the development process. ZOOM for Mobile is currently in a Closed Beta Testing stage (unlike the desktop version which has been in an Open or Public Beta Testing stage for a few months), and is already working well (at least that's my opinion, and that of some of our testers). There are still some bugs to work out, and our developers are working steadily to get a Release Candidate ready.

Anyone who is in Monte Carlo for the EPT Grand Final can participate in our Beta Testing by walking over to our 'ZOOM for Mobile Preview Area' set-up in the lobby of The Sporting. While there, you can try out the BETA product and ask our mobile specialists any questions you may have.

Australia is on the drop-down list, so it seems to suggest it is (or should be) available here?

Having said that, Denmark is also on this list, and it is stated above by Poker Tatsu that it is not available there yet, so not sure what is going on...

really really nice work here imho, also the multi tabling on the iphone works too, I am impressed

and if you add zoom I would be super happy!
