Heya there,
I am playing poker over last 6 months, started on some poor site and then went for kickback bonuses . I cleared 4 of them meantime, focusing on the ones which doesnt allow affiliate's rakaback deals.I am mostly playing NL4 and was winning player on this 4 sites, with volume about 3k hands per day, sometime was lower due to less traffic but am 8-10tabling if possible. My question regarding this would be:
* When its more profitable to switch to affiliate rakeback deals over clearing kickback bonuses, like on what stake and volume?
cheers!

When it pays more money.

Seriously, your question is way too open-ended. It depends on the RB offered, the clearance terms of the kickback bonus, etc., etc.

My kickback bonus whoring days are a couple of years behind me, but I don't think I ever saw a kickback where kickback + sign-up wasn't a higher return than rakeback - usually substantially higher. But of course, once the kickback is done, so is the high return. Thus you need to decide what rooms you're going to want to play at longer-term, and those will be the sites where you make sure you get RB/VIP/whatever the site calls it.

Ah good point, ty very much for answer. I guess i just wanted to stop this swaping rooms thing and stay for some time on 1 poker room while progressing in stakes, with good rb deal.

Bobo pretty much summed it up. In addition, I'd advise you to "scout out" rooms in order to find what games are available when etc. For this I mean, if you're swapping networks. You don't wanna get a kickback bonus which you dont clear in time - this would actually be minus EV

Hey guys,

There is never a bad time to switch from kickback bonuses to RB. This is especially true when playing Micros or low stakes where the rake is very high as a proportion of your stack and in terms of big blinds. It is also worth keeping in mind that a lot of sites and banks charge you a currency conversion fee for cashing out and redepositing on another skin. This erodes the value of your bankroll, takes time and means that you will have the annoyance of verifying your documents yet again. For these reasons many players find ditching kickback bonuses for rb is a no-brainer.

It is worth sending a rb request form to see whats out there. This will enable you to evaluate for yourself, if it is worth calling time on kickback bonuses and instead opting for rb.

Any good bonus whore should have an eWallet in the same currency as his or her poker site funds.

This is also a good idea even if you are a regular player at a few different sites.

Agreed this is a solution to the problem of exchange rate charges, the issue here is that we are assuming that peoples bankrolls are completely separate from life dollars and that the players current account is held in USD. There will still be small fees associated with using e-wallets and these charges do mount up for bonus whores.

This makes it perhaps a better idea to play on a single site rather than bonus whore. Also there are other costs like time, that need to be taken into account when bonus whoring. Time spent creating new accounts, shopping around for the best deals and verifying documents, could be perhaps better spent on focusing on winning at the tables.
