Poker business in Malta? Help me

Hello everyone.

I am at the moment looking for a 3 month work experience placement in any english speaking european country.
If i am not mistaken, there are several companies that are close to the poker / online poker / online gambling business based in Malta.

I am just looking for a list of those. If anyone could help me finding them, i would be so grateful.

Thanks

There is a list of gaming companies licensed in Malta here - not sure how many of them will actually have offices in Malta though.. Click the links along the side for the lists. http://www.lga.org.mt/lga/content.aspx?id=86949

Thanks for the list mate.

There is a hell lot of companies that are listed though..

Do you know/get the differences between:

o Licensed Operators: Class 1
o Licensed Operators: Class 1 on 4
o Licensed Operators: Class 2
o Licensed Operators: Class 3
o Licensed Operators: Class 3 on 4
o Licensed Operators: Class 4

?

And yeah, if someone has a list of companies with an OFFICE there, id be even happier

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

No idea on the difference tbh

I'm fairly sure expekt had/have offices there, and betsson, unibet and betfair.. They seem to be on the class 2 list so that might be a good place to start but I couldn't say with much conviction..

There are a few companies in London, Dublin and Gibraltar also - best thing might be to search monster or other local job sites for gaming companies in those regions, and apply for a placement via the contacts listed..

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated. I know very well about Gibraltar and others, but I am quite focus on Malta though this could change if I can't find anything in Malta.

If anyone has anything to add, have no hesitations

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

Check the "Classification of Remote Gaming Operators" on this page to see what license class 1, 2, 3 and 4 represents.

http://www.lga.org.mt/lga/content.aspx?id=107696

Basically, class 1 is casino/bingo, class 2 is sportsbetting, class 3 is poker and class 4 is for software vendors if I read it right....

Cheers,

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

Stars are hiring also don't forget, though that would require living on the isle of man

I'm moving to Malta myself at the end of March, am a full time grinder but am planning to shop my CV around when I get there to see if any sites need someone to help with HH analysis or such - idea mainly is to get me out of the house and meet a few people since I won't know anyone there. So I'd be interested what you find, hope you update thread with your experiences.

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

What might help is going through Pokerscout, from Ipoker downwards, and checking the sites / skins and where they are located. You then get the biggest and most reputable sites first and can target those based in Malta.

Re: Poker business in Malta? Help me

Personally I clicked through to the Ipoker website and then clicked through to each skin's web page to check where they are based, then on to Ongame, Microgaming, IPN etc then you will have built a shortlist for Malta based companies. Not saying it will be quick but it will get you what you need.
