This is probably old news for most of party poker players.

However I just logged back onto Party Poker after not playing there for a while and found that my loyalty points which could be exchanged for around $600-800 in tournament entry's have been deducted from my account.

I know that this sort of practice had become fairly standard in the industry but to start the process after only 3 months seems truly outrageous to me.

So just a heads up to anyone who may have some unused points, use them up quickly.

Give them a call and say you were planning to play a lot more, but they need to give back the points. Good chance they will actually do that.

I have done the above before posting but just wanted to warn others of this policy as the time frame was a big surprise to me.

What makes this policy worse is that their loyalty scheme is completely skewed where my points allowed me $6-800 but if i wanted to redeem it for an instant physical item i would get something like a baseball cap or a mouse pad.

Just absurd practice from Party. I'd say keep pressuring them, after a while some brainless CSR may just sort it out for you.

In case it helps anyone else:

PartyPoints start disappearing after 12 weeks of inactivity. 5% per week (or 5 points if greater). After 20 weeks they swipe the balance. See here (points - until when can I redeem...).

Cash starts disappearing after 180 days (via "Inactive Account Fees"). Freeroll entries will disappear as well. See here for the rules and here for the inane fee schedule which says it's €5/month and then says "that's only an example, consult the fee schedule".

I'll PM Colette (PartyRep) to let her know the latter makes no sense.

The fee is €5 at this time, per the top line of the Inactive account fee schedule page. It could change.

The paragraph that uses €5 as an example only confuses the issue a little because the fee happens to be €5 at this time.

Perhaps it would be better to use €1 in the example paragraph, as the actual fee would never be that low, imo.

Yep. It's clear what has happened, as I pointed out to Colette - someone's merged all the example text from elsewhere without thinking about its impact. Anyway, one would hope they'd fix it pretty quickly. It's legal gibberish otherwise.

Question on this. I got the inactivity fee where they deducted less than 6 dollars from my account for not playing there for 6 months. I didn't know about this policy as i rarely play on partypoker but have a very small balance there. I read about this and the loyalty point thing. Is there a way to know how much loyalty points i had before they started taking away loyalty points?

Is logging in considered being active? Or do you have to play a hand?

Isn't the point of a loyalty scheme that you are forced to keep playing there or lose out?

I know in poker people are used to the idea that loyalty scheme is another way to say rakeback but there is no reason they have to be like that.

11. INACTIVE ACCOUNT FEES AND ABANDONMENT OF ACCOUNTS

11.1. If You do not access Your Account by 'logging on' to Your Account using Your Account name and password and either (i) place a cash wager or bet via the Facilities, or (ii) enter a tournament with a cash entry fee via the Gaming Facilities, or (iii) play a raked hand via the Gaming Facilities, or (iv) make a deposit as applicable, for any consecutive period of 180 days, then after those 180 days (the 'Grace Period') Your Account (and any related account with any ESP) will be deemed 'Inactive'.

11.2. Once Your Account has been deemed Inactive We will be entitled to charge You an administrative fee (the 'Inactive Account Fee'). We may deduct an amount up to the Inactive Account Fee amount from Your Account Balance on the day following the end of the Grace Period and then every thirty (30) days thereafter in accordance with the Inactive Account Fee Schedule. We will also remove any unused freeroll entry tournament monies from Your Account, including but not limited to occasions where the tournament for which the freeroll entry applies is no longer valid. If We continue to deem Your Account Inactive for a period of eighteen consecutive calendar months, in order to safeguard Your monies, We may withhold any remaining monies in Your Account and close Your Account. You may contact Us to reclaim any such withheld monies at any time.

We will stop deducting the Inactive Account Fee from Your Account Balance if Your Account is re-activated by entering a tournament, or making a cash bet or wager, or by playing a raked hand or by making a deposit and these actions may also be subject to de-activation of a Facility Closure (as defined at section 18.1).

These conditions are exactly the reason why i dont play on partypoker.
