I understand that things are probably locked in for this year, but with only cake running sattys i am really worried about us representation. They are also running $200 sattys to be held on saturdays that award $7k packages. 1 in 35 is pretty long odds. I can't see these tourneys getting over 120 or so average which leads to less than 4 packages a week. Getting ftp (or maybe even ps or cereus) involved even in some last minute sattys would be huge. Am I wrong, or do i remember seeing some ftp sattys to this last year?

PS- still no venue chosen?

There are sats on the IPoker network, PaddyPower, Titan, Mansion, TonyG, etc.

I won the $40 re-buy last tuesday (3 days) for a
$6500 package on Mansion for the Irish Poker Open.
(Only cost me $84 in total)

I played there last year, and the atmosphere, drinking games, fun, is the best you will ever imagine that it could be. Get there and enjoy the 'craic'!!!! And the Guiness!!!!

I'm over the moon as it is only a 4hr journey from where I live to the Citywest in Dublin.

Just a quick one - we've just released our Instant Play flash client, I think we are the 1st on the iPoker network to do so. W00t w00t!

paddypowerpoker.com today launches Instant Play poker, enabling players to play anytime, anywhere. Ireland’s largest poker room is the first on the iPoker network to launch the No Download software, which allows players to enjoy the same functionality as the existing client without having to download any software. All players need is internet access via a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox), while administrative permission for machines used (Instant Play software is compatible with PC, Mac and Linux) will not be required.

To celebrate the launch, paddypowerpoker.com is running a Lunchtime Series of Poker (LSOP) made up of $2 tournaments at 1pm from January 7th to January 13th, with the top ten finishers in each event awarded a $5.50 Irish Open satellite token. Additionally, the top twenty players from each tournament will qualify for the LSOP Final at 1pm on January 14th. This freeroll will feature a $200 prizepool and award a $22 Irish Open satellite token to the top ten finishers.

Hi your site is awesome!
But how come you don't allow dutch players?
Is it that we are too good, ruining the games

Anyways hope you will change this in the future.

Good luck with your site!

when are you going to improve your software so things like resizing tables is possible.
-currently the options seem to be either small or large.

I really dislike the interface and find it difficult to work with.
Would ye consider making a simplier one like betfair/stars/ftp an option for users ??

Also you should make the hand histories easily accessible in the client, the fact that it is not can be frustrating at times.

Hi Omaholic101!

Currently we do not accept any players based in the Netherlands but this may change over the next 12 months. Sorry about this - hopefully we will see you at the Irish Open 2009 nevertheless!

Hi Subandi

We are not planning a Back That Ace Up III later this month, as there is a different cash race scheduled to start at the end of the month. We will definitely have some new PPP-exclusive cash races to introduce in the Spring tho, so hopefully we can have some free cash for you

I wish I could tell you what the new exchange rate would be, but I don't have access to the information - sorry!

Hi Recon20k,

Well, an upgrade of our poker client interface (including resizable tables) is in the iPoker dev list but unfortunately I can't be sure of when any of the new improvements are being released. Likewise with better access to Hand Histories. So I'm not much help here I'm afraid! I know this might sound like a cop-out but I can assure you we regularly communicate players' concerns and requests to the iPoker team but beyond pushing as much as reasonable, we can't do anything to shorten the dev time - this is the reality of being part of a network.

Paddy Power Poker's hand history is corrupted. This is probably a Paddy Power specific problem, because I tried on Mansion yesterday and it's all right and I never experienced this before.

In the xml file there is a startdate tag for each game and one for each session.

It should look like this:
<startdate>2009-01-07 21:13:22</startdate>
But at Paddy it is missing the date:
<startdate>21:13:22</startdate>

Interestingly, this problem is only affects the HHs during the game. If I manually download HHs from My Poker/Cash Table History, it's all right.

But I don’t want to manually update the local hand history. That’s what we have a software for. It takes me 20 minutes daily to correct the hand histories and my database manually.

Further informations to enlight my problem:
I use Pokertracker to track my results and I live in Hungary what is in the GMT+1 timezone. Without a date in the hand history, Pokertracker uses the system date in my computer. Now, at midnight (server time is 11 PM) it assumes that it’s tomorrow 11 PM and completely messes up the database. It breaks the sessions, filters won’t work properly, etc.

But it’s not only a problem if you live outside the GMT timezone. If you want to rebuild the database from the xml files later, say, with a years’s data, all of the year’s data will be stored under today’s date, even if you live in Ireland or England. So you can’t filter the data by date any more.

I asked Paddy to forward my letter to iPoker developers or whoever customized iPoker’s client for Paddy (it’s a Paddy specific problem), but obviously they didn't understand my problem at first. So I try to put pressure on them and get more information by posting it here.

The "Flying Buttons" problem described in THIS post is corrected in Paddy's client. That's why I think that Paddy modifies the iPoker client or that they are the beta testers for the iPoker client.

If this is a guerilla action from Paddy I'm really sorry for unveiling it. I really appreciate their efforts, unless it causes even more bugs.

What are your comments?
Do you experience similar problems on other skins? Or is your skin all right?

there is an ipoker dev thread, with Blue Sq chasing requests within it.

I just find it bizarre, that with all the feedback that iPoker get continually (resizeable tables must be top by a long way) they once again **** about with a feature like this one that I haven't seen a single person ever look for.

Hi tenbob,

We are currently getting between 170 - 225 runners in each Sunday $215 sat to the Irish Open, resulting in either 5 or 6 packages (worth $6500) per tournament. There is almost twice the interest we saw at this stage last year, primarily down to our €100,000 Sole Survivor online qualifier promotion (qualify for the Irish Open with us, outlast the rest of our online qualifiers in the tournament and get a €100,000 package).

If you register for the tournament using cash and later unreg, you get cash back into your account. If you register using a token and later unreg, you get the token back into your account.

I'm happy to announce we are now running Irish Open Ticket Only satellites, every Thursday evening at 20.05 - the 1st one is this Thursday, Jan 22nd. These super sats cost $300 + $20, with one ticket won for every $4,700 in the prize pool. Daily feeders are on the go from $2.20. Our ticket only sats are normally quite busy, particularly in the month before the tournament itself.

Actually I started to leard XML programming and I began to think that I can reverse engineer the client of iPoker before I get any help from iPoker. I know it's not your fault, guys at Paddy!

We have just launched our latest cash race, the $400,000 Cash Cow, with awards $400,000 to the top 300 on the leader board at the end of February. The race is network-wide, with additional cash awarded for the winners of milestone hands ('Golden Hands') and $1580 tokens to the $2.5m guaranteed tournament on March 8th on offer as well.

This is running in conjunction with our own PPP-exclusive Back That Ace Up III: Back With A Vengeance cash race - hopefully we are covering all bases here! I'll let you know the plans for our next PPP-only cash race in the aftermatch of BTAU III.

Still no response to my problem?
I managed to correct the corrupted files, but it still takes 5 minutes daily (instead of 20).

I doubt they have an IT Development Team at all. If I could learn C++ and XML programming in a few weeks, they could come up with something meanwhile. Not to mention that at various skins I was promised to correct some other glitches in the last year. Nothing happened ever.
