Hello, I advise you to use this thread as a warning about Cassava Enterprise, the organisation that operates security and cashouts for 888 network.
I've been playing poker professionally for about 7 years. I have gaming accounts with majority of well known and respected poker rooms. However, i have never came across such a egregious incident throughout my career.
In December 2011 I created an account with LuckyAce poker which is a part of 888 poker network ( username: Luckysraki). I was losing money in the beginning despite playing reasonble poker mostly because of nature of omaha. However, as soon as i went on a decent run and booked some wins I received an email that my account is blocked because of chip dumping:

«Dear Vyacheslav,
I am Francis V. from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd. I am contacting you in regards to your LuckyAcePoker.com account with username "LuckySraki".
We have become alerted to several patterns of play upon your account that indicate
a breach of our Terms and Conditions. We have conducted an investigation into your
account to discover any signs of fraudulent activity. The patterns we are concerned
with include members intentionally losing hands through our tables.
Therefore, in accordance with these conditions, your account with ourselves has been
blocked. If you know of any reasons, contrary to the above, please could you inform us of these.
If you wish to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact us.

I have wrote them an email back stating that i had nohing to do with intentionally losing hands and ask Cassava to conduct an aditional investigation. Cassava is extremely slow in terms of getting a response from them. However, a week later i received another letter:

«Dear Vyacheslav,

This is Natalie from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd.

Cassava Enterprises manage operational services for LuckyAcePoker. I am contacting you in regards to your account with username "LuckySraki".

Vyacheslav, I have reviewed your account and also your game history. As previously explained to you, this is when one member intentionally loses to another member so money can be passed. In your case, you have been the recipient of this process and recieved the funds from:
lamlen

Can you please provide us with any explanations you feel are relevant to the above concerns. Once we have received this, we shall be able to conclude our investigation and proceed with your account.

Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

I decided to search my database in order to find hands i played with «Lamlen":





All together i have played 22 hands with Lammen. Here are the hands:




I wrote an email to Cassava Enterprises explaining my thought process during the hands i played with Lammen. I specifically mentioned why i had chosen a particular action on every hand i played with the villian. A week later i received a response from Cassava Enterprises which shocked me:

«Dear Vyacheslav,

This is Natalie from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd.

Cassava Enterprises manage operational services for LuckyAcePoker. I am contacting you in regards to your account with username "LuckySraki".

Vyacheslav, thank you for sending in your explanation regarding this matter.

Your account has been reviewed and the decision has been made to keep your account closed.

As previously explained to you, this member was intentionally losing to you so money can be passed.
Using our tables to transfer money is strictly against our Terms and Conditions and will not be tolerated.

In our Terms and Conditions which you agreed to upon opening your account you declare that the source of funds used by you for gambling on the Site is not illegal and that you will not use the Service in any way as a money transfer system. You will not use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent activity or prohibited transaction (including money laundering) under the laws of any jurisdiction that applies to you (in particular, the laws of Gibraltar).

Therefore, as you have violated our terms and conditions, the decision has been made to close your account.
Please refrain from opening any further accounts with any site owned and/or operated by 888.com as these too will be blocked and no deposits returned.
Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

I had no choice but to file a complain with eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance ) organisation. I wrote them an email explaining my situation and stating how my issue was handled by Cassava Enterprises asking for assistance. After sending numerous emails i finally received an aswer from eCOGRA:

«Dear Sir,
We have investigated your query with 888.cpm and made the following findings:
• Your account was closed for suspected chip dumping.
• The dumper was identified as:
Username: Bertunior
Name: Bernard Smolski
Country: Canada
We have analysed the play and are confident that the operator has acted according to their Terms and Conditions in locking your account and as such I must inform you that we find your dispute to be invalid.»

Is this IS a joke???? Cassava Enterprises accused me intentionally losing to member "Lamlen". But ECOGRA said that Cassava stated that i was chip dumping to player with the nickname "Bertunior". It turns out that Cassava were lying to me or to the controlling organization.

I wrote more emails to eCOGRA, trying to show that Cassava mishandled the entire situation. However, I received only one email in reply:

« Dear sir,
We have completed our investigation and no evidence has changed that finding. If you wish to pursue this further you will need to contact the jurisdiction where the site is licensed and lodge a complaint against the operator with the regulator.

To sum up, I have been trying to communicate to these organisations for quite some time now with no sucess .I usually send 5 email to get one email back. I have never participated in intentional transfer of money on the poker tables on 888 network. It can be seen from hand history files. Cassava 888 handled situation poorly and did not conduct investigation. My balance on the suspended poker account is $5361.

I would ask them to send you the hands that they suspect the chipdumping to have occured. You have a compelling case against a spewtard and wish you the best of luck.

The case may be compelling but in this court the judge (888) is not neutral but biased.

im confused as to why those are the hands you chose to show with bertunior? are those just the ones in which either of you put money in? if not, why not just post all 46? you can post the raw data if you want.

they should definitely be required to send you the suspicious hands also.

does seem silly and its quite scary the amount of sites that seem to have horrible omaha security. it wouldnt surprise me too much if the whole thing started over that AA vs T876 hand.... "he went all in with just a ten high! must be chip dumping"

So if it is bertunior, you played literally one big pot against him, and they are claiming it is chip-dumping? Or if it is lamlen, you won 2 pots off him, and that is dumping?

lamlen and bertunior were the ones playing huge (and kinda spazzy?) pots against each other and other players, so maybe it is actually them who are suspected and 888 has stuffed up?

Agree with Eskimo, just seems like someone with a vague knowledge of holdem went "OMG AA vs T876, chip dump!!11!1".

I think this a case where it would actually be useful to tell them you are taking it to the biggest poker forum, bad publicity, etc, etc. Not because 2p2 is some sort of judge/arbitrator, but just because it will hopefully get it escalated so that someone higher up looks at it (and who understands PLO).

um he posted all the hands in his hem, 22 vs lamlen and 10 vs bertunior. so far all hands seem fine to me but I'm not terribly surprised at what 888 chose to do here given their track record w the dooshcom/darren woods scandal. OP, the best idea right now would probably be to go to Gibraltar, their licenser http://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/remotegambling

If this is the whole story it shows total incompetence by luckyace/888/casava. Even though the games seem good I will never ever play there.

I played at pacific in the past but they stole $700 from me in iddle account fees. Also their handling of the douchecom cheating shows they have no clue what they are doing. Probably the person "catching" this supposed chipdumping hardly understands the rules of omaha.

Unfortunately I cannot help you. Do they have a phone number? I would try and get in contact with the head of security and ask him to take another look at the situation.

Wow, that's some profound investigative work there. I'm guessing one two minute phone call. I hate that this is happening to you OP--I wish I could offer you some advice, but you seem to be getting screwed here with no real recourse to anything.

find a well respected PLO player on the forum and ask them to look over the hands and compile a small report along with a statement of their experience in PLO, seems like a long shot but seems worth the effort just in case

I dont like monopoly's but sometimes it seems the only way forward for online poker is to shut all these scam sites down and let stars carry on.

The bottom line is your money is not safe at 888 anymore. This is like the 4th or 5th case of wrongful chipdumping in a year, they banned a bunch of winning bingo players for taking advantage of reload bonuses, god knows what else they do behind the scenes.

I wouldn't keep any money on there that you're not prepared to lose.

I know this won't help the situation but it confirms they dont know how to run a poker site. I've been playin there for years but I think i'm done with the site.
I also got charged 10% exchange so if anyone know how to avoid that i'm all ears.
