PP support is being pretty swift on this, but I thought I would attack it on 2 fronts in the hope of a speedier resolution. Hopefully someone may be able to help...

I am in Zimbabwe, and can successfully log in from work. At home, however, the software seems to think that I am operating from South Africa, a banned country, and won't let me log in. I have tried using Hola to make it think I'm in Zambia (Zimbabwe is not a Hola option), but it doesn't work. Having Hola turned off, so in theory I am accessing PP from Zimbabwe, doesn't work either. I get a message saying that PP does not support play in South Africa. Is there some other setting that's making this thing think it's in South Africa that I am unaware of? If I bring up Google, it seems to realize that I am in Zimbabwe, so I am completely lost.

I have tried accessing it through the downloadable version as well as through various browsers, but keep receiving this message "Unable to connect. Please try again or contact support."

Productivity at work is going to take a real hit if I can't resolve this. Any help appreciated!

what does it say for this information on your home computer?

Your post in this thread shows as coming from South Africa, so the issue isn't the poker software.

Posting from work now, and the whatismyipaddress registers as Zimbabwe. I'll try from home this evening and see. Thanks for the assistance.

Depending on the IP location site I use, I get Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Mauritius (wat). Not SA though, which is what matters.

This post is from home, after I "fixed" my IP address on whereismyip, however that didn't solve the issue. My ISP is looking into it and can hopefully get to the bottom of this very irritating situation.

It was saying South Africa, so I clicked the option that says "this is wrong, repair it" or words to that effect. Now it correctly has me down as in Zimbabwe, but that hasn't changed the 888 result in any way.

You are changing what WIMIP is seeing, not what your outgoing IP address is

Your ISP probably cannot do a thing, presumably they are not giving you a Zimbabwe IP ever

IP blocks have probably been moved in that area where you live (and surrounding countries) and 888 has not updated their logs from MaxMind, or whoever provides them this info

Drat, that sounds grim. Am I correct in assuming then that this is probably permanent, or reasonably close to that? Assuming that's what this is.

Just to update for those who helped - after spending an hour on the phone last night with my ISP while they tried all sorts of things to no avail, this evening they called back and said they had reassigned my ip address, and everything's working as it should.
