If that was the case I doubt Doug would say anything at all.

Really? Reassuring words do nothing to hurt them, and will convince naive people that all is safe. Why not come here and say something? I'm not saying that what he says won't turn out to be correct, I'm saying that if he knew otherwise, he'd still say it.

I think the original $14 million figure was Stars exposure and the $30 million is the total from all sites.

Pure conjecture, yes? I'm basing my opinion on the multiple use of the phrase bank accounts frozen, but I don't mind being wrong - not at all.

You could be right. I thought when the $14 million figure was first mentioned it was linked to Stars specifically but I can't find where it came from. I could be completely wrong.

Prohibiting us from playing poker is blatanly unconstitutional. I look forward to this getting to court.

Does anyone find it ironic that during a bad economic time the government is denying American citizens their money? To me this is unreal and I'm tired of the hypocrisy of the US gov't.

Yes, because it has to mention everything that you are allowed to do. Just like how the constitution says it's ok to drink, smoke cigarettes, wear pantaloons...

can you get through your thick skull that US players dont account for even half of the sites traffic. If they were to do something shady they would be done for, tu comprende?

Telling us that everything is fine, keep playing and making us money and then pulling out in 2 weeks is not shady, it is just how it works. He's right. Whether what Doug says happens or not, he'd come on here and say it. Pulling out of the US doesn't mean they will do anything shady...I'm sure we will all be able to withdraw if that happens...but taking his post at face value would be naive.

This has more to do with the dysfunction of the levels of American bureaucracy than it does the will of the American government (as if there were such a coherent entity)

Nobody is saying Stars or FT would do anything shady. But if the US govt seized 30million a week for the next 7 weeks thats 210 million dollars. Now if Stars and FT continue to "make good" while they dispute the seizure (which could take YEARS) at a certain point, just from a business perspective it becomes unprofitable to continue serving US players. Not to mention that the sites are going to have to scramble like rats to find processors that will continue serving the US.

You need Canadian issued ID. If you obtained a work Visa or landed immigration status you could. If you just walk into a Bank with American ID they would not open an account.

does everyone ITT understand that the online poker industry does not depend on the USA? Most players are not american and most of the fish are not american. online poker is legal in other countries.

You have way too much faith in the US government imo.
