I have a bad swelling of my right elbow. Having done the responsible thing and googled it (who needs doctors), it's looking a lot like olecranon bursitis which is also known as student elbow and can be triggered by long periods sat at a desk resting on your elbows.
It's the same thing as housemaids knee, i.e. inflammation caused by prolonged periods of pressure on, or knocks to the joint.

Has anyone else experienced this? and does anyone have any tips from prevention/cure? It's not that painful, but it is pretty unsightly. Up to now I don't think it is infected as it doesn't feel hot.
