Re: *** Official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Thread ***

just stopped in to see what this network was about and the the last couple posters got punked out by support...your business relies on us in every aspect..hope ppn likes having 13 players at peak time. will not play here and will tell my other friends looking for a poker home this is not a viable option.

Ouch! those posts have got to sting. I wonder how many posters would vote to replace Gio. They don't need to have great grammar or spelling, although it wouldn't hurt if they know how to cut and paste from a program with a spell checker to look professional. They just need to be polite, follow up and act like they care about the players’ concerns.

Re: *** Official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Thread ***

Here are some guidelines I think a Rep should follow:
1. Post daily to establish a presence. If there is no activity to respond to you can promote something. Example: "Check out the new Meet the Boss3 freeroll holdem tourney starting at 18:00 today." or "Congrats to DocMicro for winning the Independence Day Freedom 400."
2. Acknowledge any sincere criticism or praise. Do not respond with an angry or dismissive tone, no matter how angry, deluded or pretentious the post is. Thank the poster for their input.
3. Play the games. It is hard to empathize if you do not share the players’ experiences.
4. Admit all mistakes and correct all your misstatements, even if they are not your fault. Do not be defensive. Do not wait until you think you have a fix for the problem. If people wanted to wait until the next business day or two for a response they would contact email support.

Definitely not going to play at PPN... the little I've seen in this thread is enlightening. Bad support.

So vent away if that is what you want.. Just don't be surprised when I choose to ignore it. Start all the new threads you want.. 2+2 will deal with them as they see fit. I have no say so at 2+2.

Gio.
Yeah, this is kinda BS. No one is asking you not to have a life or even not take a vacation. Go ahead and take a six month vacation for all I care. But at least let us know beforehand that you're not gonna be responding for the next X number of days, weeks or whatever, especially since you're software is still working out the kinks and you KNOW there are going to be legitimate questions and issues. Don't just leave us twisting in the wind.

Or better yet, if you can afford to, have another rep chime in in this thread when you are not able to. I'm not abandoning your room at this point, but the players, especially for a new network like yours, is what your business is going to succeed or fail on. If you're attitude towards them is "GOD I HAVE A LIFE YOU KNOW, JEEZ LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY," that's not an optimal customer service model, and I think you've already seen a little damage ITT because of it.

Party in Costa Rica..

From the promotion page...

"...Then come full circle back to what made it all possible in the first place; a poker night out at the Hotel San José Palacio."

Can you tell us more about this part? Would we be entered into a tourney in Costa Rica or just given the opportunity to play in a casino?

Daily Dissatisfaction Report

No one uses the PPN chat room anymore. I joined skype and was added to the Poker Pros group. There are 23 members of the group. The group rounded up enough for a sng today. The six player “double up” sng tourney window said it paid 2 places, when I re-opened the window it showed 3 places paid, It did pay 3 places.

The first Meet the Boss3 Freeroll did not run because there were not enough (10) players. I sat at a Beat the Boss sng hoping Chuck would join, instead genneus joined and I won 50 cents. Maybe he thought i was the boss. I don't expect the win to qualify me but couldn't tell be cause the Beat the Staff event is not posted to let me see if i was registered.

The $100 freeroll had 35 players, I clicked on the last hand history, although it has been months since it worked right in holdem. The “poker browser” window appeared on my taskbar but I could not access it. This is a frequent occurrence when the client has been open a long time and there are several other windows open, in this case 5 other windows.

I noticed 3 people at a .05/.10 holdem table and 1 person at a .05/.10 PL omaha hilo table today. i've been in the room at least 10 hours today. At the moment there is no one sitting at a cash game, sng or registered for any other event. i can usually scrounge up some play at a FL omaha or holem table but i've pretty much quit playing cash games until the rake races are re-instated.

there are links at the top of that page which probably answer some of your questions. It answered many of my questions about the leaderboard events to come. Actually the pages are quite well done - very professional looking.

I'm doing a Daily Dissatisfaction Report in the unofficial thread, assuming I can find something new to complain about each day. I might run out of topics in a month or so but i doubt it. Without support feedback i might as well be talking to myself, which appears to be the case since no one has posted there.

Actually there are some good reasons to play at PPN but screw it, I don't feel like promoting the site anymore at the moment other than to compliment the players. Many of the players are friendly. All but a few are well behaved. Most don't bother chatting at the table, which is fine with me anyway, because the chat box is hard to follow. I have only encountered a few people who are intentionally obnoxious or infantile, a common occurrence on cake and far too many other sites. I rarely use the mute function on PPN.

Re: The Unofficial Poker Pros Network Players Input and Venting Forum Thread.

So when you join Skype how do you get added to PPN?? Id like to know when you guys are trying to get a game going. It gets old sitting at sit and gos and tourneys and never playing.
Although they are not many playing, i do like the tournament schedule now. Lots of different types and buy ins.
Anybody dislike the rebuy tourneys? Id like to see some gtd tourneys that are not rebuy tourneys even if its a small amount.
Ive also encountered the no cards glitch a couple of times the last few tourneys i played.
Indy, there are a few out there reading and listening. I think they are just tired of all the bs and the empty room.

explain why i should play on ppn. when reading the playthrough requirements, making a deposit would be a joke. only 3 players at a .05/.10 table, getting enough rake at that table to cashout 200 hundred dollars could take a lifetime.

SouthernPott was so nice to add me to the list. I'm sure if you PM him he will do the same for you. If not, I will if i can figure it out. wish him a happy birthday while you are at it.

I can take it or leave it as to rebuy tourneys. We would all love to see guaranteed freezeout tourneys because we would know if we are getting an overlay in advance. That would mean PPN paying out of their pocket which of course a game room wants to avoid.

I have played many rebuy tourneys and i would estimate that they take in about 3 times the amount of the entry fee (i have never seen any statistics on this, so this is not a scientific analysis). so, minimum 10 players times 3 is $30, hence no overlay.

There was an overlay in the $400 guarantee last week. Unlike most sites, the tourney window does not show how many rebuys and add ons there were so we do not know how big the overlay was.

We are not likely to see many guaranteed freezeout tourneys because they would lose money

thanks for being the first to post to this thread besides me. It is nice to know someone else may be reading it

You will find a post from GioCanHelp in the official thread about the prediction of a drastic increase in traffic.

I was the rake race leader last month, when they had a rake race. I paid $37 in rake last month if that helps you do the math. Can’t you do a smaller initial deposit, like $50 for example? They do offer an ongoing reload that equals a 20% rakeback. Beyond that you should look to the TOS and support for answers, for example, incremental payments of bonus
