Hi, I was playing two mtt's on Paddy Power Poker today- it was down to the last 4 in one and mid way through in another. Then I got disconnected and couldn't log in and get my tables to load. I knew the problem wasn't on my end as I was playing on full tilt and pokerstars at the same time and they were fine.
I contacted live support- waited for ages as there were loads of other players obviously also wondering what was going on. When I finally got through to a live chat agent, I had to provide account details and answer security questions BEFORE she could tell me that Paddy Power Poker was experiencing technical difficulties. It's crazy to have to go through a security check to be told that!
Then I wanted to know how players would be compensated- like would every entrant to affected tournaments be refunded their buy in or would the prizaepools be split between remaining players. I was told ONLY affected players would be refunded their buy ins. I pointed out that this made no sense since Paddy Power would obviously make a huge, unfair profit if this was the case
- then she said she was wrong and players might be compensated with a return buy in or they might be compensated with a division of the prizepool...So basically she had no idea how I would be compensated and her supervisor didn't either- surely this should be basic information for customer service agents to be equipped with. Oh and she also didn't know when I would be compensated.
So basically, I would like to know 1. how MTT players are compensated when the site goes down in the middle or at the end of a tournament(surely the logical answer is that the prizepool will be split between remaining players) and 2. will customer service agents stop asking for security details when it's not neccessarry- eg when the whole poker site is down no one needs to access my account to tell me that the poker site is experiencing technical issues.
EDIT: Paddy Power Poker is back up and running. I was just refunded my buy-ins despite the fact that in one tournament it was down to 4 players- what happened to the rest of the prizepool- did every entrant get their buyin refunded? (even those knocked out get refunded? if so, why? since they weren't affected by the technical issues) or did Paddy power refund players left in the tournament and pocket the rest of the prizepool? I really don't understand the logic behind not splitting the prizepool between remaining players. I mean if 2 players were left in a tournament that had 2,000 entrants- surely Paddy Power should split the prizepool between the remaining players rater than refunding everyones buy in?
Thanks
