Since we've changed to weighted contributed already, and that is not going away - you would need to factor in the 20% reduction you claim in the original figures as well. If they're worth $0.80 after the rake reduction, they're worth $0.80 before the rake reduction.
Mate, I'm not being a dick. It is a little frustrating though having to correct you when you have simply failed to read carefully, and understand what is clearly being stated.

And you have done it yet again with this current post!

The 20% reduction does not have to be factored in to the original example. The whole point of the example is to compare the 2011 situation with the new WC rake along with a 20% reduction in rake.

It really is not too hard to understand. If you really are, as I had believed, competent working with numbers then you shouldn't have any trouble with it if you just take the time to read it thoroughly.

Agree with Rom that decreasing the rake is not the way to go. Basically it will screw over anyone who is just capable of making SNE.

SNE rakeback [not FR] = 71.3%. Stars take $52600.

If rake was reduced by 20% -

800k VPP rakeback [not FR] = 60.8%. Stars take $57500.

For FR, the numbers would be $37k and $45k respectively.

Much more significantly, reduced rake means fewer promotions means fewer fish. We are already seeing promotions in January that I wouldn't have expected to have seen last year.

IMO, FR and 6max need to be brought in line, as much for the integrity of the system as for the benefit of the 6max players. At this stage, I would be happy with 6x VPP across the board, even if combined with a small [5%] reduction in the value of SNE - but, of course, it's not just SNEs who will be affected by any change so balancing such a system would be non-trivial for Stars.

So it seems that tomorrow is the day when I find out if I am SNE for 2011 or not. If yes, count me in 4 mil VPP chase and maybe some propbet challenges with B3RTstare.

They should probably raise the rake to 90% then and every SNE would become a millionaire.. this is so f stupid

Going for my 3rd SNE. Will mostly play turbo SNGs and hyper sats, but will also take a lookat hyper SNGs if they are introduced.

GL all!

I'm showing about a 15% increase in VPPs so far. I only played about 500 hands, will report back in a few days. I play mid/high fixed limit HE.

The whole "don't decrease the rake for VIP purposes" is retarded.

Rake lowering equates to 100% rb for the rake that is reduced. VIP program even at top tier is ~60% rb. You are paying less rake with a rake reduction and the subsequent rb loss than with the current system.

Also, vast vast majority of the playerpool (casual and reg alike) would benefit from this change. Literally the only way players would benefit more is if they're on the edge of some major milestone and are unable to make it due to the lost vpp. This probably amounts to a fraction of a percent of the playerpool and not a meaningful percentage of rake generated for stars (unlike the WC switch which is a 10-30% vpp reduction for every plat+ player).

There will be a discount, whether it is in the store or not. You can email vipclub@pokerstars.com to get a price.

just tell them that you are going for 4 milion VPP (700k in rake lol) this year if they make you SNE... it might speed up their decision a little bit

POKERSTARS STEVE,

Now that Pokerstars has shown they are willing to make drastic changes to the VIP system on December 29th without balanced compensation....

Can we moved away from a VIP system that rewards people the following YEAR????

Given Pokerstars' last minute crap I'm thinking I need SAME YEAR VIP REWARDS.
