Re: Official 2009 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

I already made a thread in the O8 forum, but I fully intend to be SNE this year. My plan is to play anywhere from 12-18 tables of PLO8/NLO8 at once. I'll probably add in a few sessions of just a few tables of NLHE or PLO from time to time as well just to keep things fresh, but 90% of my VPPs should come from PLO8/NLO8.

My goals are to make SNE and to make at least $400K not including rakeback/VPP rewards.

GL all.

Do you know where I can check how many VPP per hand and hands per table and hour you get at PLO8?

For anyone seeking the motivation to achieve SNE in 09, I can confirm the rumors are true that when you do finally reach SNE status your penis grows by 2 inches.

I did it for one session and posted about it in the thread in the O8 forum that I started. But the sample size there is obviously way small. Not sure where else to tell you to go, but if you find something then let me know please.

Remake this thread in February and you'll have much less people going for it suddenly

Ok, I'll check your thread (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/44...thread-361314/).

Re: Official 2009 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

Yeah here were my results from that one quick session in case anyone else is interested:

Started at 4:00 PM Pacific Coast Time.

At 4:18 I had played 200 hands and earned 100 VPPs.

At 4:25 I had played 305 hands and earned 169 VPPs.

At 4:42 I had played 575 hands and earned 339 VPPs.

At 5:10 I had ended up my session(played around to all blinds) and played 938 hands and earned 594 VPPs.

That comes out to:

First 18 minutes: 11.11 hands per minute, 5.55 VPPs per minute, 0.5 VPPs per hand

Next 7 minutes: 15 hands per minute, 9.85 VPPs per minute, 0.66 VPPs per hand

Next 17 minutes: 15.88 hands per minute, 10 VPPs per minute, 0.63 VPPs per hand

Next 28 minutes: 12.96 hands per minute, 14.16 VPPs per minute, .70 VPPs per hand

Total: 13.4 hands per minute, 8.48 VPPs per minute, .633 VPPs per hand

I fully expected to get less hands at the beginning and end since during the first few minutes I don't have full 16 tables up yet and during the last few I'm closing some out as I play around to my blinds. Therefore, I think that its clearly better to put in one or two long sessions per day rather than multiple short ones in order to maximize VPPs.

That seems too low. Wouldn't be better if instead of PLO8 low stakes tables you played another thing that gives you more VPPS (and possibly a higher winrate in terms of money/hands)?

Re: Official 2009 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

list of things to do to create extra time at the SNE pursuit.

1. never cook
2. delegate all other "stuff to do"
3. portable potty/computer seat potty for # 1....and 2
4. exercise bike/computer seat setup.
5. take vit.d per lack of sun.
6. don't waste time posting on threads like this

I'd play higher stakes if they ran. I'm literally playing the 12-18th highest stakes PLO8/NLO8 games that run. If there were 18 $5/10 or $10/20 games running then I'd play those.

Imo NLHE has gotten tougher and tougher these days. No offense to anyone who does it, but I"m 100% not interested in just playing break even poker and relying upon VPP rewards for my income. As I said, I have a goal of $400K not including any rakeback/bonuses. And since I havn't seriously played NLHE ring games in over 2 years and I have none of those stattracker programs that seem necessary for beating the game, I don't really think I'll be going that route.

PLO is an option, but it doesn't run full ring that often at higher stakes, and I can't 18 table if I'm doing 6 max. Plus my PLO8 winrate is much higher anyway.

Well, I was thinking on PLO, but maybe you are good too at SNG's or another thing. What I was saying is that maybe you should play something like plo400 instead of NL08$0.5/$1, to win more at the tables and in rakeback. It doesn't seem really coherent playing from $0.5/$1 to $10/$20, unless you don't want to play any other form of poker.

Re: Official 2009 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

Yeah my winrate at PLO8/NLO8 specifically is significantly higher, and I find that those full ring games are tremendously less variance-filled for me, which will definitely help throughout the year.
