CellMan - Making the same statement. This man(Sirocko) is finally up for the month, after starting down down $7,5K and made it to 100K VPP today..... Time to fly

Re: Official 2008 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

this is probably a little too early in the year to ask this but i'm going to anyway. for those of you going for SNE do you think you'll try it again next year or is this more or less just a one time thing for you?

like i said i know it's probably premature because many of you will probably change your opinions/feelings about SNE after 7-8 months of grinding

yeah, it is still pretty early. I think it'll be harder for the mid limit grinders to want to go through it all again. But with a bigger bankroll and 5x multiplier in 2009, could see them playing higher stakes and going a different route

Re: Official 2008 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

I told them that they do a good job and suggested they should run a lot of Supernova FPP/freeroll satellites to the WSOP.

Re: Official 2008 Supernova Elite pursuit thread

For me, the 5x FPP multiplier is one of the significant incentives so if I were to make it to Elite I would plan on continuing or even increasing the pace once I got there.

optionsguy:

I made SNE last year and it is extremely unlikely that I will try it again this year.

I have not played much online since the first, in fact I only have 2100 VPPs so far this year. I played the PCA and after that went to Vegas and played live for a week or so.

I will maintain my SNE status through March, but it will be tough in April. I will be going to the Monte Carlo event and plan to travel some of Europe for about 10 days after that event is over.

To attain SNE, I played in games and at times that were -EV for me. I determined that had I practiced good game selection throughout the year and played a few less hours - I would have more than paid for the benefits of SNE through increased earnings.

What the SNE chase did help me with was pushing myself to become better at multi-tabling (up to 16 + tables) and to push myself to play more hours. These lessons should pay off in the future.
