Appreciated that you take the time to give us these stats. I would say pokerstars owes you a big raise, you must of got them alot of new heavy user customers just through your work and nice attitude with the community!

You are wise. I truly believe this is better for one's bottom line, not to mention one's sanity.

Maybe a update that shows 1st, 5th, 10th, 20th

a leaderboard of it would really be perfect, just have it update every day at midnight or something, without showing screen names. i really dont see the harm in this, and i think it would only get people to try to grind faster, thus bettering pokerstars' business. something like the top 100 would be sweet, but top ten or so is fine too.

I'd like to see a button where I can check my daily rank. I'm no where near the top 1000 but I'd love to see where I am at in comparison to everyone else.

I agree, I see so many stars players that just try and GOOGOGGO on vpps...and just "grind it out" at like 1.5 ptbb/100...they're smart people and if they took 3 months and just worked at their game I know they could be 4 ptbb/100 winners...oh well I guess, their choice.

I don't think players going for SNE are precisely very lazy...
01-04-2008 , 07:30 PM
it was sarcastic i meant to point out the extra work the big multi tabling grinders put in compared to the lesser amount of work the players who work on their game and become better have to put in to achieve the same amount of money

The point is that if you play medium stakes, massive multitabling for SNE may be more profitable than playing less tables and paying more attention.

ive tried both, and only recently have i been not been an advocate for massive multitabling, but if you are who i think you are on stars, im pretty sure you kinda merked me and i remember thinking you were better than me, sooooo take this FWIW i guess

anyway, yes, VPPs per hand will change dramatically based on playing style
the SLAGs at 100NL get about .43 VPP per hand
the tightie TAGs get .35 VPP per hand

Every player gets the same at the table, it doesn't matter how much rake you generate.

If you play tight you make the whole table tighter, hence bringer everyones average down!

i understand the reasoning, but to me this difference in VPP/hand seems a bit too much, where did you get these numbers, are they estimates or actual documentation?
01-04-2008 , 11:04 PM
The higher the tables VPIP the more VPPs you'll generate hence the more slags and loose players the better for generating VPPs.

The real thing to worry about though is becoming a better player, anyone who focuses primarily on the SNE chase as opposed to becoming a better player will make less money, guaranteed

Warning: The purchase of a Nintendo Wii will severely impact one's pursuit of SNE

you haven't given up on me so soon

16.5k here and no nitendo

I'd totally be up for a VPP leaderboard. I'm at ~19k, and assume im somewhere around the top 50, but it would just be nice to see how I rank compared to other players.

Also, something that might be nice for FR players. Why do 2/4NL tables and higher get a VPP at 1$ instead of .40$? This results in a lower rakeback % for your higher stakes players. If the standard was just changed to 1 vpp at .40 rake, it would be a bit more reasonable for mid stakes FRNL players to reach supernova.

Just my 2c

16.5k here also,

man... there just are not enough 2/4 NL games to move up to
