Hey all, was looking for a thread about Nitrogen Poker since it is being launched tonight at 10 PM but couldn't find one.

Nitrogen has a solid base of sports bettors so I hope that will translate to some good poker games.

They use Bitcoin so its a US friendly site.

No official rakeback, but they do have rewards system, not too sophisticated at the moment but it looks like if you're the highest level member (diamond) you get up to 50% "rakeback" if you use the bonuses correctly.

Just wanted to hear thoughts from others about the new site.

Have they said what their rake is going to be?

faq going up sometime today with regard to rake and all other questions I asked they didn't disclose. Is a standalone network and software will be browser htlm based. I can confirm their sports book is top notch hoping another viable option expecting some hiccups as can everyone else based on past histories of bitcoin sites.

I am pro-choice on Bitcoin poker sites.

Lolz they launched worst software I have ever seen on a real money site and it isn't even close. OMG!

The rake section of the FAQ is blank. They are raking preflop though. So, yay?

So I played a few hands there HU and from what I could tell the rake was a disaster. For blinds of 1/2:

SB raises, BB folds: SB collects 3.84 from the pot.

That's right, they took 4% on a non-flopped hand. I only played 2 big pots and didn't get a good look at the rake on those to see if there was a cap. Either way, I'm not playing that until it gets fixed.

Yes, but you can change it and add 2 factor authy if you like.

Yea, bummer about the software and the rake issues. The games are juicy though

They automatically set up an account for you. It's attached by cookie so it's best to set up a username and password to go along with it in case you delete cookies or use another computer.

epic fail being dosed to point won't even load . Many tried to register and where unable to saying tournament full though only 200 registered. They should do the right thing and cancel the tournament even if it goes off going to have huge problems due to the dos

i can not say i am surprised. I mean come on the software is garbage i would even argue LiveAce software was better...... I would never in a million years deposit on nitrogen poker

This might be a little long, but bear with me here.

So in ~2011, there was a bitcoin poker room. Here is what it looked like.

Pretty legitimate looking. At some point the owner, known only as Hippich, said "Sorry we've been hacked. Your 3000btc are gone, players." BTC only ~5 bucks at this time, but that's still a pretty hefty chunk of change.

Ok, that's fine. I'm out 80btc because of this unfortunate occurrence. But it happens.

But now, in 2014 Nitrogen Poker does a pretty large scale launch, basically trying to compete with Seals which has a pretty large bitcoin only player base (basically by being the only site around since ~2011 NOT to scam, the other one that scammed was btcontilt) Nitrogen has been around since ~2012 is by far the leader in sports and I have nothing but good things to say about them in that arena, they've always paid literally instantly, you can cashout instantly.

However, this poker thing looks exactly like the ole betco.in poker room software. Exactly, right down to where chat is located. And its not just looks. Its feel too. There was a sort of little lag right after you clicked the button. The same thing happens in Nitrogen Poker now. It's just a little TOO similar.

Note: dooglus is in there who ended up starting just-dice one of the biggest bitcoin gambling sites of all time. He probably lost coins to the "hacking" as well.

What happened to these people? Hippich and the other admin that ran the site....was a female played under "a" something...can't remember the exact name?

Why is this new Nitrogen Poker so similar? Its running as a skin under a thing called "cubeia" poker which seems to have only play money clients so far. Some company out of Sweden? Nitrogen is their first "real money" foray of any kind and its poised to be a big one.

Someone smarter than me, please figure out if there's anything shady going on here that us players should be aware of before possibly playing for big money on this site. (Already seen a seals reg sitting 25/50 NL on there which is a 5 btc buyin)

I have no idea about either the previous site that stole or the new one now, but it's very possible that the software itself was bought and the 2 sites have nothing else linked

The platform is Cubeia. They i assume both license the software. So does Quarter Poker. The Cubeia platform supports virtual currencies and is fairly new, so its no surprise multiple sites have popped up using it.
