You might want to take a look at his location.

Yeah. Okay. My location says NJ, and I've been living here all of my life except for two months in Utah, one year in Florida and a few trips to South America. But I'm not lying when I say that I have been mugged three times in New Jersey. Once in Jersey City with my brother by a large gang of black kids. Once in Atlantic City, on the boardwalk, with my father, by a spanish boardwalk gang, and once in Rahway on New Year's Eve walking home from work by a bunch of white kids.

My father (who is 72 now) was beat up just a few years ago by a street gang of kids in Jersey City who were playing "knock out." He now has a metal plate in his head from the incident.

So yeah, I was trolling before, but New Jersey isn't Salt Lake City. It's violent. That's no lie.

For as small as Jersey is, you sure haven't gone very far. There are so many nice places in New Jersey.

That does not sound very encouraging.

Maybe online will be safer. Behind locked doors.

And I've been living here for 22 years and I'm white and skinny (6 foot 155 lbs) and I work in the worst areas including Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, Irvington, Elizabeth. And I go in to vacant boarded 2-4 family homes alone, in the worst drug slums, unarmed, and spend at least 30-45 minutes there per job. And I've been doing that for nearly 30 years. Never been touched, never been bothered. Nor have any of my NJ relatives or friends ever been mugged or robbed or touched. Nor has anyone I've ever known been mugged or robbed or touched in NJ.

Perhaps I've been running good, but what the poster is suggesting is false and ridiculous. Your odds are excellent in the bad areas. In the good areas, which is 99% of the state, there is simply as little issue with crime or thugs as any other area of the USA.

So the possible future poker capitol is fine. You'll love it here.

I believe you. I know families with kids who live in NJ, and they like it.

That is an impressive record. To what do you attribute your complete lack of felonious assaults?
  • they haven't noticed that you are there
  • you are carrying a big hammer
  • they want workers to fix up the neighborhood
  • gang members are a noble bunch of misunderstood yoots

ok lol..i bolded the reasons these things happened to u..i've been here over 35 years and still work central to south and west jersey daily and NEVER have a problem..nj is awesome..90% of the state below the middle line is safe/clean and enjoyable..

u have nyc north of us

philly/washington/ south of us

jersey shore beaches (not northern pauly d bull**** either) ocean city nj and south to cape may and between are awesome boardwalks and beaches and are all fixed up and rdy to go since hurricane sandy

south jersey and west jersey is mostly farmland believe it or not

north jersey (above monmouth county is safe too..just need to be more attentive to where your going and have some common sense

and to top all that off..we have the coolest...fattest republican governor in the USA (and i'm a mostly democrat voter lols)

think 5 casinos have all been approved with their respective egaming partners to begin online poker and casino game play nov 26th and already there is much talk about merging with deleware and nevada with nj being a central hub

done defending my home state now

Most suburban sections of Jersey are extremely safe, like most suburban areas anywhere. Most urban areas, you should probably know where you're going and be a little cautious, like most urban areas anywhere. Use your head.

It's six total at the moment, although some sites will be operating multiple skins so there'll be more than enough options.

NJ Online Poker Sites

So we're a week away from the "soft" openning of online poker in NJ and there is basically 0 information about what sites will be up and not even a website with sign up information.

Anyone have any information that i'm not seeing?

I went to Borgatapoker.com to sign up for the site or get the latest info on it, but now the website isn't even working.

How difficult is it to create the website with basic information? that should be the easy part, compared to creating the actual gaming site...they could have done this months ago to get people excited and ready to go...

Re: NJ Online Poker Sites

I was thinking about this as well. A mere weeks away and barely any info. I haven't really seen any ads or promotions. Its the opposite of how I thought things would be going. I thought sites would be going crazy promoting. Trying to be the biggest right out of the gate to try to capture the market.
