Does anyone know how to get W2G for tax purposes on the NJ sites? Just tried Pokerstars Tax request and the email said 'no record'. Also tried WSOP.com but couldn't find anywhere to request a W2G.

Do they not give out W2G for online poker? I haven't played any table games online in 2016.

They only give a W2-G if you win over a certain dollar amount in a tournament.

FWIW, you can ask for profit/loss statement from party/borgata/wsop/888 for the entire year and they send to you. Pokerstars don't have that.

I received an update needed msg when I tried to start WSOP last night. Let it update, now the site won't boot up. At all. Nothing happens when I double click on the icon. Tried rebooting, all other sites work fine, etc.

Help?

I dont understand why the last thread was closed, this seems like an issue people should be allowed to discuss. I called today asking about the hand history issue and instead of giving me a simple update, they asked for my name and SN and put me on hold. Could be common way of handling most phone calls. But something seemed strange about it, as if they were gathering data on which accounts were complaining about the "mistake". Has anyone else contacted support? What was your experience?

Probably because of this:

Not sure what's left to discuss, but go ahead I guess.

Yes, I would expect that's the way they handle all their phone calls. I can't remember the last time I called a business with which I had an account, when they didn't ask me for my account information.

LOL, what?
Thank you for moving it. I'm not disagreeing that what I was saying was extremely speculative and yes i've called wsop several times before. The conversation just felt strange. The CS rep was very aloof to the whole hand history issue. If you want me to breakdown the minutes on my phone call I can ask my secretary for the notes.

You have your secretary listen in and take notes on your personal phone calls to gambling sites?

I use WSOP And have been having countless issues since the update. My client freezes constantly, I can't save my Hand History, and I also cant access my rewards $ (rakeback).

Has anyone else had these issues? Obviously from the sound of it, it seems the hand history part is a mistake and they are fixing it.

The others are still very annoying and i'd like to get them fixed. Haven't heard back from NJ Support at WSOP but was curious if this is just me.

I have not had the freezing issue and I've been able to access my rewards.

Other than the hand history thing, the two things I noticed that annoy me are: (i) the mouse wheel no longer changes your bet size and (ii) the smallest possible table size is now bigger than it used to be.

after an hour on hold today I was able to get in contact with Customer Service who was very helpful. He pretty much told me that they planned on removing the hand history/HUD use but they are taking down suggestions and enough people are calling in regards to HUD use and want it back.

Pretty much, if enough people are complaining they will allow it to be used again. The software has ran into a lot of hiccups since the last update and they are working on resolving all of them so the more feedback to them the better

So hand histories are now downloading for wsop but hud's have been killed by the site?

just found a thread on holdem manager forum. Apparently, the new hand histories are formatted differently so anyone worried it seems its just a matter of time before the issue gets resolved.

Client freezing constantly for me too. I'm probably not gonna play again until it's fixed.

I cannot get on WSOP or 888 now. They both freeze at the geolocation and wont let me proceed. Sometimes I get to the screen where it says they cannot geolocate me after a few minutes.

its insane how much the traffic on WSOP has gone down since the updated software. Any time of the day there is normally 5 200NL games running, a couple 100NL and like 15 50NL. I could barely find 5 50NL games to play today

I still can't boot either 888 or WSOP. Stars, Party working just fine.

WSOP support just gave up after about five minutes. 888 support lasted about 45 seconds, saying it was "a known issue." Probably the same people.

for taxes, has anyone playing in NJ obtained advise from an accountant on filing rent as "home business use"? I moved to Jersey last year to play, so i would think I could now file with home office deduction for the first time, but I file my taxes without professional help.

If you file as a professional gambler, then you should be able to deduct some amount based on the square footage of the portion of your home used for your business, provided that such portion of your home is used only for your business.
