Multi-accounting allowed at Ongame??

Look at first and tenth place finishers: http://www.pokerroom.com/poker/tourn...info/41342057/

When a player in this tourney queried Ongame about this, they were told it was OK for one person to sign up for the same tourney from 2 different skins.

They have removed the IP block for MTT's, you can now sign up more than one account from the same IP.

Re: Multi-accounting allowed at Ongame??

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me. It's probably not Ongame's policy to allow this but their support person probably is clueless.

I caught a short-stacker using multiple skins to avoid the rat-holing rule. He was doubling up, leaving the table, then returning under a different screen name at a different skin. After some back and forth with support at Hollywood they got in touch with Ongame and the guy was warned that he was breaching the rules. I don't know if anything else ever happened to that scum.

Why would they remove the IP block for MTTs only. That makes absolutely no since whatsoever. If that is true they are almost encouraging cheating...

Re: Multi-accounting allowed at Ongame??

How can the site allow this?

What if I entered my Mansion and Hollywood ID's in the same tournament and ended up 3-handed.

Seems stupid, though if it really is allowed then I think id consider it for the good tournaments.

They did allow this for a long time alredy its amazing the site let this happen and do nothing about it,it seems they care more about the rake then they care about str8 games on there.CAN somebody give Sorel and JJ this link so they can "cheat honnest"

Re: Multi-accounting allowed at Ongame??

The first responses from support were wrong, hard for them to know anything when support is outsourced to a call center. They have now gotten their facts straight and informed us that it is not allowed, but have not said why the block was removed.

We lobbied long and hard with the Players Petitioning for Fair Play group for these security measures, and more, two and a half years ago and it looked like we were getting somewhere. There was a Security account created who would investigate all the reported cases, and report back to the group with the result. Sadly, the Security account hasn't logged in since May 2007, now all we get is "we are investigating this and can't tell you the outcome for security reasons". It's obvious that the IP block has been removed from MTT's, and they don't care.

I guess it really is all about the rake.

FWIW This is the exact same policy they use(d?) at Pokerstars.

My dad and I both entered the same MTT from the same IP without realising, although it didn't really matter as we were both huge fish back then and were just adding to the prizepool.

PS policy may have changed since but this was around 2 years ago.
