Gonna create an account at a local credit union just for these checks.

The thought of my FAce account being frozen for a <$1000 check is just a nightmare.

Fwiw, credit unions tend to have more problems with these checks than large banks. Not to say yours will, but it's much more likely. Mine won't even cash them.

How do you know that most CUs will besides yours? All I've read is people having problems W/ Big national banks on this thread

If you read back in the thread ( and the Bovada thread) there has been a lot more problems with credit unions than big banks. Big banks have banks in other countries and deal with foreign checks better.

And isn't Ace bank the one people were having issues with getting their accounts closed? Haven't seen much about the majority of big banks having issues outside of when Merge sends out bad checks.

I wanted to check in here first to see if I should make another deposit and after reading the last 3 pages I realized that I would have to be insane. Thanks for the honest updates.

I want to raise a point that may have been hit on already, but I will update the thread and give my two cents on the issue. So if you play on Carbon poker and you manage to run up a nice bankroll say 17k, you come to the time where you have to go through the withdrawal process.

Now on carbon the max a U.S. player can withdraw at one time is a 2.5k check. This check on average according to carbon takes 3-5 weeks to process and complete, which than you can go ahead and request another 2.5k check, but you can not request this 2nd check until the 1st one is done processing. So if you have 17k it will take approx. 7 checks at an avg of 4 weeks per check, you're looking at 28 weeks (7checks x 4wks) to pull off your 17k and thats not saying you don't run into any issues with checks bouncing or their processor taking longer than usual.

So if there are 48 weeks in the year and its take you 28 weeks to get your 17k than you have to wait over half a year to get your money from carbon. Is that real? That means you are restricted to approx. 30k withdraw limit per year if you are playing in the US on Carbon.

Carbon offers a tournament that potentially pays close to 30k on sundays, so they offer us a tournament that if we win we dont even get to see the entire profits from the win in potentially over a year? This is not right, its not fair to the customer, and it is setting up players to have money frozen on their website for years.

In the past with carbons withdrawal process you could request one lump sum say the 17k at once, it would take 3-4 weeks to receive the 1st check than one additional week after the first for each following check, but instead now it takes 4 weeks between each check no longer 1 week. Again this is just a recipe for disaster and Carbon needs to take necessary steps so that their payout/withdrawal process is smoother and more reliable, terrible business model they've converted to with these changes.

^^ If you have large sums of money on Carbon they will give you the bank transfer option which is $5K. You also can leave the country and withdraw your money almost immediately. If you win $30K in the Sunday $125K would it not be worth withdrawing the max check (or wire) and then taking a few day vacation to get the rest?

Obviously it's not ideal, but it is what it is. The bigger worry is getting banned for winning. Couple these issues together and anyone playing mid stakes cash on here from America is an idiot.

Wow, what a solution. Leave the country and take a vacation to get money you earned. Clearly spoken from someone with zero responsibility and ultimate freedom. I am jealous.

I think the rest of us just want a honest company do do business with. So much to ask living in a corrupt country like the USA

I was simply stating an option to get money off. I personally had this issue and wasn't able to leave the country because I have a good full time job. It took me from October-now to get all the money + what I won in the mean time. I'm finally waiting on my last check. No need to attack me for offering a solution. If someone needed their money off immediately there is a way to do it. If you think I'm defending their ****ty withdraw process then you're drawing a very inaccurate conclusion.

Between this and them banning winning players I won't be playing here ever again after I get my last check and bust or cash out what I had left over.

As far as dealing with an honest company goes, you live in the US and play on illegally operating sportsbooks. Expectations shouldn't be very high. With that being said, the other 2 illegally operating sportsbooks seem to have no issue paying people in a timely manner.....

Curious what you mean by this?

If you're saying, set up a foreign bank account, get a skrill account, etc, this really isn't as simple as going on vacation for a few days.

Actually you can not use a bank wire option for 5k if you are a US player on Carbon. Trust me I have tried and talked to their support multiple times. The only option at all is a 2.5k check at an average wait time of 3-5weeks.

Just because they haven't given it to you doesn't mean you can't do it. I have bank wire on Carbon, Aced, and Sports Book. I've had it on Carbon for a long time (played there since the day after BF) and got it on Aced about 6 months after I made my account and about the same for Sports Book. Aced also told me for months that they didn't offer it, even though I knew they did, and then magically it showed up one day.

Are you a new(er) account? Do you rake much? Do you keep a large balance? Those all seem to be factors in getting it activated.

It isn't at all tough, you just have to get creative. You can open a Mexican bank account with a passport and a lease (doesn't even have to have your name on it). I haven't personally went down and did it but know many people who have and it was relatively hassle free. I'm more familiar with people doing it in Mexico, but I've known a couple do it in Canada as well, though I'm not sure how much harder if any it is.

Checks for May per player reported data is at 21 days on average for check withdrawals (from date of request to date of receiving). That's up slightly from April (19 day average) and down from March (24 day average).
