Why wouldn't you fire as many entries as possible? It's a $1 tournament, right?

If I thought I wasn't better than the field I guess, but who thinks that?

Also, I would hate to mincash for $6.25 after so many hours.

Every individual buyin might be +$EV, but surely one doesn't go into this tournament hoping to buyin 32 times. Even if he beats 99% of the field, he still loses $11.

Yeah I'm sure there were several players unloading bullet after bullet after bullet. I'm actually surprised 200k in chips is the chip lead right now. Figured it would be a lot higher (although 65 players have stacks of 100k or better too).

I'm out, just shy of a double digit score lol. Good luck to everyone else.

Well, yeah, but best strat in an unlimited reentry $1 donk fest is to shove every draw until you have a stack. I didn't look at the payouts since there was no reason to log into Merge today with real MTTs going on over at Bovadadog, but surely you had to get top 5 to make any sort of meaningful money.

Sad I missed all the excitement, hopefully I can bink this $45,000 1st place to make me feel better. #bringontheheaaaaaat

When does the one free withdrawal per year go into effect, or is that already the case? I can't find the info on the site...

Is it me or is the shark week the lamest excuse of a promotion ever? I would rather see an mtt on the weekend with big guarantee, solid structure, and hype.

Also I hate re-entries. Wish they could let you enter multiple times like tilt/stars. Also think they should throw om some 2r+1a's or mtts with a quick structure where you get a bigger add on (stars had one with a 30k addon).

Looks like it already went into effect. I didn't know about it until I saw on my pending withdrawal they are taking 3%. Not happy about it. I confirmed with their support through live chat there's no way around it. I politely asked them to relay to their management that's bad business. When there are more options for online poker I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Bovada has all the things you desire and they don't **** you over. Do you play there? (minus multi entry tournaments)

Maybe I will start playing there. Not happy with the withdrawal fee carbon has. Have you played on both sites? Bovada is better in your opinion?

Well, checks come in 3-4 days for up to $3,000 and 1 a month is free. They have 3x the cash game volume as Merge and the MTTs are larger and more abundant. They don't offer reentries and have many rebuys that are structured in a way like you described. Today they had a $162 $200K that had 1,888 actual people (not reentries) that had a total prize pool of $282,000. They have a ton of lower buy in MTTs w/ large guarantees as well if that is more your style. The games are easier and it's an actual poker site, not one that bans you for winning money like Merge. So yeah, I'd say they are quite a bit better than Merge.

Merge has better software though, but that's the only thing they do better.

I can't play on bovada because I live in NY. I already have tried to create an account but when I enter my state it says gambling laws restrict accepting residents from NY.

Also, this is random but i recommend black chip poker to anyone playing mtts. Their mtt structure is amazing (reminds me of pokerstars). 15 minute levels and lots of play during end game phase of mtts. I played 3-handed at a final table where each player had around 40 bbs (for a smaller buy in mtt). Maybe I'm wrong but the structures at black chip are much better than carbon. I'm sure the carbon higher buy in mtts have solid structures but seems like the lower buy in to mid mtts are really crap shoots during end game imo.

Nah, Merge is actually much better than BCP for MTTs and it's not even close, unfortunately. So long as you don't get restricted. If you have limited options then do what you gotta do though.

BCP's structures are nothing like Pokerstars, btw. Players have been trying to get them to adopt Stars like structures for a very long time now..

Is it retroactive? In other words, the policy just started this month. Is the first withdrawal since free, or do they apply the 3% if you've already had a withdrawal this calendar year prior to the policy change?

It's Merge, what do you think? They charged 3% to people who had pending withdrawals before the policy was even announced.

Technically she had $8.80 (re-entered 7 times), so just a little more than a dollar.
