I think that they might consider it a "restricted" tournament rather than a "freeroll".

bovadas tourney schedule is decent. I played there yesterday for first time ever, ran like ass, dropped my initial deposit real quick. my gripes are indeed, no VIP system, no sync breaks, software is ok but miles behind merge, notes did not save upon table transfer (at least let me keep notes for the duration of said tourney, unreal), deposit fee was high (4.5% I believe), cashier did not load for 4 hours while I played until I restarted client.

I don't know about anonymous tables, I can tolerate it, players were terrible. in the $100 mtt, some players fundamentals were horrid. not sure what I will be doing, being a pro, I need to find something with a respectable hourly. most of my play is sng, only incentive to play those merge ATM is the leaderboards. pry gonna play mtt for awhile at either merge or lolvoda

Witnessing some big overlays with the new tournament rollout, especially in the small stakes

1.1r /w 750 Gtd had an overlay of $309.. crazy

When I chose Carbon it was because it was the only U.S. friendly site recommended at the time. It has progressively gotten worse. I checked out Bovada last night, but I think the games are too big for the amount I am willing risk online at this time. If and when the online poker world becomes stable and I have some confidence in the vendors, then I may deposit. I almost considered depositing on Carbon, but they removed all of their micro stakes limit poker cash games. So for now I only play freerolls. Bovada dosen't appear to have any freerolls. I only play online for practice.

The only problem with moving my action to ACR is that there is NO LHE running so I am playing PLO on ACR and giving Carbon my LHE action. These guys blow. If ever there is LHE on ACR I will pull what is left of my roll from Carbon.

Anyone know what the story is on the 2 a days freeroll? Are they having it this month? I'm not showing any points for the 1st of this month either I activated the promotion. I like the new tourney schedule especially the increased HORSE and Stud stuff, one thing is they should change the 11$ Horse at 4 am to a 2$ tourney, at that hour you would get more runners willing to spend a couple bucks to play not necessarily mixed game regulars, most of the regular HORSE players who want to spend 11$ will spend it on one earlier and are not gonna be up at that hour. Yea a 2$ HORSE at 4am would be better.

What is the consensus with other aced plus/carbon plus members with a lot of vip points? Just cash them out at 10k/$150? Wait and hope to be invited to Aced Elite? Pray that Merge realizes they are being unfair and changes their policy to allow you to redeem existing pts at the old rate?

I assume it is the first option, sigh.

lolololol

But seriously, you can use them to enter tournaments right? Not sure if that is better or worse than just trading in for cash at the new, rather depressing rate.

Using them for tournament entry is equivalent to 10%.

It was changed to a $11r tonight so I'm guessing it was never intended to be a $1r. Shame, had a sick overlay.

*edit* NVM, looks like I was mistaken, the 1r is still there. Guess they hadn't put it in at the time of me looking at the schedule.

They also got rid of some of the morning 2r's that overlayed big time, but they kept the evening 2r's that also overlayed big time, so mixed results I guess.

Is BlackChip a viable cash alternative? I got in with 35% RB, but with the Beast drop it seemed, even with my RB, the rake was too high there and it never seemed like there was many tables running so I never deposited there and started on Bovada. Are things better there now? I haven't run the numbers to see if the 35% RB offsets the Beast. Has anyone?

I pulled most of my roll off Carbon after giving them time to make up for the increase in rake and the first screw up of the VIP system and RB removal as Ryann promised. I never saw that so I burnt up all my points and cashed out. Left a bit on there in case things got better, but once they pulled the forum things didn't feel right and I got the rest off. With this change and the way the promos/points are being handled, I am glad I did. The thought has crossed my mind that all the regs will defect and it would be worth it to put some cash back in case all that was left was soft players. But then I remember that I have at *some* principals in who I deal with and so F*** Merge.

it looks iffy for the two-a -days. and no free seats to the sunday, seems like all freerollls are gone, also as of today, no micro turnys under $1. i guess that explains why they got rid of almost all fixed limit games. they dont want micro action anymore

and any other sheep or shill I left out who has been defending Merge up and down every time we criticize them..the people who said we were jumping to conclusions when we told everyone they were dumping their forum because they were gonna gut the vip program and didn't want to deal with the public backlash.....

WHAT SAY YOU FOOLS???
Reading comprehension is your friend. I said that merge is moving towards a more rec model, and they just did it quicker than I thought. Smart business move by them in all reality. (Also, not fair to include Max_Cut)

We (the 3 or 4 of us who gave feedback on the new schedule) were told the gtds would be conservative in the beginning since the gtds would be the same on each night. They will watching these closely and adjust accordingly. The best thing we can do is play the MTTs we would normally play and once Merge sees the gtds are being exceeded I'm sure they'll be increased.

As for the new VIP system, I agree it does suck but bottom-line Merge is kind of like Rockefeller, when you more or less have a monopoly on US play or have so little competition you can pretty much do what the *** you like. When it comes to MTTs they're the best there is. Bovada is def running them a close second but I have to go to the bathroom sometimes and until they get synch'd breaks I just can't stand to play there much. If I'm playing cash I'll be playing on Winning where I get 35% rakeback (it's normally 27% or their very good Stars like VIP system but I was grandfathered at 35% when BlackChip moved from Merge).

Wow wonder how I missed this stellar list, LOL

MichelleLee you got it right on one point congrats! You're pretty much wrong about all the others.
THe problem is that they are overlaying already. This weekend might be different but what I don't understand is why drop mtts that NEVER overylayed. the 150k the 60 turbo that dropped from 4k to 2.5k. the 5r turbo that always had 2.5k now 1.5k. All of the sundays. If they had added these tournaments to the schedule and just taken out what they were replacing sure they could even run their new 11 mtt and their old 11 mtt AT THE SAME TIME

So I have been out of the loop for quite a while but just started playing on Carbon again and am trying to catch up with all the changes.

How do we get invited to Carbon Elite?

Why was the subforum closed?

What other major Merge news am I missing?

So have they reverted back to rakeback through the tiers it looks like?

All the changes have been bad. NL Rake has been increased to the highest in the industry. Rakeback has been abolished. VIP has been gutted. Etc, etc.
