The 5k, 5k, 5k? Yeah, that was the nuts and it was always $3,000+ prize pool which wasn't bad for an afternoon tourney. It truly is a shame what Merge has done to this site. The 7 PM $11rb was always $5K+.

I've never played micro stakes so I wasn't sure if it was just bad regs exaggerating or actually unbeatable. I've heard varying stories about WPN micro cash, but I don't really want to teach him on a site where it's a bunch of nitty robots who really should be playing mid stakes but grind the beast instead.

Having rebuy tournaments is very nice. Merge added back a few, but it's mostly like $2 rebuys. No rebuys above $11 afaik and the only $11 rebuy is a ****ty $400 GTD that no one plays. Even though the old $11rb near that time slot regularly was $5,000+ prize pools...

The Merge tournaments have become very un-fun and painful to play. It's no wonder people are running from the site. Sure, it's all about making money, but it'd be nice if it were enjoyable outside of that.

I'm not sure how some of the better regs on the network that post here don't understand how absolutely terrible what they have done to the tournaments is for the long term health of MTTs here. It's already showing in many different ways and even though you may be winning, it will only decrease as time goes on and less fish are left in the pond.
Those rebuys are turbos. They just don't play the same as 10, 15 min or deep stack rebuys.

I haven't even played any of the rebuys they added back. None of them are worth it. If the $11rb was at least like $1.5K I'd play. I wish they still had the $20rb, $30rb, and $75rb. Those were awesome. The old schedule was just so much better than this trash.

is it standard for the SnG leaderboard to be reset at exactly midnite?

they dont leave it up for x number of hours/minutes so u can check how u did/confirm their number matches your number?

Hey now , dont tap the tank! We all love truelies because of his classic chat blowups. For example he will jam AJo into your AQ and lose then proceed to call you a "FI" (****ing idiot) for 3 minutes straight.

God bless you truelies

Am I missing something or is the $11 turbo (8:30 AM CST) off the schedule...

I see the $11 turbo at 11:30 is still on.

MarkDube, according to P5s, is the #1 US MTT player. He is at the apex of the pyramid. As such, he is the exact opposite of the bottom of the pyramid, or a "bottom player" in the context I used above. I thought I made that distinction quite clear.

You claim to be a top tier winner also, as such, you do not qualify as a "bottom player" either, though I'm not sure of your proclivities outside of poker so who knows

My point was that when people earning 40,000 plus VIP points a month can't get into the top tier and they just pick and choose randomly based on some formula no one is allowed to know it's a joke. Not sure why I even bothered responding as you are well aware of what I meant.

You get very passionate about expressing your dislike for Merge. While I may know what you mean (though really I do think you completely erred in what you were attempting to convey), other people reading this thread, who don't read it daily, wouldn't know that difference. As such, I pointed it out.

High volume players get extra promo dollars. Anyone raking $4k a month gets a higher % effective return from one promo or another. It's not what it used to be, I know, but there is something there. Fact is, they aren't giving out huge % rewards anymore. Those who still like their games will stay, and those who don't will leave. Some more quietly than others

Exactly.... even donks read 2+2. The pool isn't big enough to be alienating the biggest fish.

Srsly, it is very naive to post names of big donators itt, you think they won't google their SN sometime? Or possibly browse this thread searching for info about Merge.

___

I find it ironic that merge is supposedly taking a stance to protect the recreational players but they choose the current MTT schedule and formats which do the exact opposite.

Exactly... There is NO MTT schedule during the week for people with jobs. Especially with 3 hour 45 minute late registration. Only hope is Saturday & Sunday and that's if people don't have family plans of some sorts going on.

And that's if they haven't realized they are drawing very thin to actually win a tournament because the all tourneys are field with regs deep who have/can reenter multiple times. Most have and will realize this and move on to another site or just quit playing online poker all together.
