Thank you for your continued patience. We are working on a comprehensive and detailed response to the concerns expressed in these threads. I will post it as soon as it is complete.

In the meantime, it would be helpful if concerned players would build consensus around which posters might make good representatives to visit the Isle of Man to speak with PokerStars. I have received PMs from some interested players and some have expressed interest in this thread, but there has not yet been a strong consensus behind any players. If players can agree in public on a list of 5-6 acceptable representatives, for example, we will invite 2-3 to visit us.

This post by Duckslayer2k is good.
That post is probably the best I've seen on the matter

Okay but lets not forget that ur not being ripped off. YOU are just not profitiing by other people putting money into the pot anymore. WHICH IS FAIR.

The only problem is for the overmong majority of people here that stars will keep the difference at its whole for themselfes instead of tweaking rake, rakecap or w/e stuff to keep money in the pokerworld

I appreciate the update!
What kind of timeframe are we talking about here? I mean you are relying on a VIP program that is best utilized over a full calendar year, so a solution in mid/end January might already be to late for some ppl.

dude, 2-3 doesn't represent the whole community, invite at least 10-15. Stop being so cheap.

Hey steve,

starvingwriter, duckslayer, metertown, JH1.. just from the top of my head I'm sure I'm forgetting some more

Is the response represents pokerstars point of view on these matters or is there any change involved?

thank you

Steve,

What is the purpose of having players visit on the Isle of Man? I still don't quite understand what can be done in person that can't be done online. In any event it won't be very hard for us to find some players we can agree upon and who would be willing to do it, but if meaningful discussions are actually going to happen there 2-3 is not a broad enough cross-section so it'd help to clarify what the purpose is.

I think these three would be good candidates:

- TheMetetrown
- MSauce
- Duckslayer2k

That said, it's extremely important who we chose. So there needs to be a strong consensus and strong agreement from those "chosen" as well. And my "chosing" of them is only based on them making logical posts and displaying interest in the discussion.

Also, everyone please note this statement:

I find it very likely that they will pick the representatives that are least likely to give them a lot of trouble, and the most likely to concede easily, so let's keep the list small and explicit to not give them this option!

EDIT: I also agree that the motive behind inviting a select few rather than having a different form of discussion needs to be explicitly stated, so that it can't be misinterpreted.

Ricepaw1226, JH1 and Do it Right would be my choices. And thank you for starting a dialogue with the players.

I agree something needs to be done in the meantime with regards to the WC changes and the point of bringing people to the IOM needs to be clarified.

exactly, I don't see any reason why few ppl should be personally invited to IOM to have private conversation with them when they can just come in here to talk to EVERYONE!

I can think of a few better known, intelligent mods, who i'd prefer to go to the isle of man to represent my interests, than 3 unknown posters that have expressed 1 good opinion/post.

I nominate iggyping to drink champagne and negotiate with pokerstars steve!

In all seriousness, can some reputable 6max player please rise so our group is represented because we need one for each group imo.

- Nits who feel like they should get rakeback that wasn't theirs
- 6m players and maybe FR players combined
- plo
- LHE/2-7 games

Enjoy!

(I might've missed some groups, not on purpose though)

Stars should enter dialogue on here, all this invites to IOM nonsense absolutely no need, will take too long to organise aswell.

To encourage them to join this debate we could offer them a Happy Hour maybe where we only sitout 12 tables instead of 24.......

I'd like to see the discussion on an open forum such as this. We can still nominate a handful of people to speak on our behalf, perhaps a cross section of say 8-12 people that play different limits and come to a consensus/compromise.

O8 players are bummed by rake since have to pay it even when the pot is split.

Hi Everyone,

I've been gone from my computer for the last 16 hours or so but it's good to see that Stars is beginning to agree to some type of negotiation. I'm doing my best to skim through the thread and I'll try to update the cliffs thread in a few hours to make sure everyone is staying up to date. Again thanks to everyone for carrying on constructive discussion while I was gone.

Have fun playing with the good LAGs while the nits are sitting out.

Oh wait you don't even play on Stars.

Why not have a closed thread here which everyone here can read but only a half dozen or so posters and mods can actually engage with stars. Those posters/ mods can take all the input from any source they want and bring it squarely to stars attention in the active dialogue thread.

I realize stars wants to have some non disclosure type arrangement but I'm unsure there's anything that could be done that way that allows the community to feel that the things they want said have been both said and listened to. This is a forum issue because the concerns are those of a good number of forum members. It should be resolved here and as openly as possible.

Pokerstars relies on a good relationship with the poker communities. This issue shouldn't be taken private.
