The money made from the $1/$2 games on pokerstars is pretty significant for their bottom line, due to the amount of games running across NL/PLO and pot size. My suggestion is for the pokerstars sitout to take place at the $1/$2 NLHE 6 max tables starting at 17:00WET/11:00CT/12:00ET time.

take as many seats as your account balance/pokerstars allows you to and join as many waiting lists as possible to destroy the games.

The weighted contributed system for dealing VPP's is the fairest way without doubt, what you pay for is what you should get. Why should 24 tabling nits get dealt the same VPP's as the rest of us who are paying more rake and playing more hands on pokerstars?

The problem with the change is that there is going to be ALOT of money which is now going straight into the back pocket of pokertstars management. Anyone who has been around poker for the past 4-5 years realises that online poker has been on a massive decline since 2009, so the last thing the poker economy needs now is the BIGGEST/most dominant online poker site in the world taking even MORE money out of the games.

these two suggestions being thrown around by a fair few people in the threads on 2+2 is as follows;

-increase the 5.5x VPP per $ raked to 6x
-a decrease in rake at the micros

I think the most important is #2. A decrease in the rake at micro's would allow the population at the micro stakes (.1c/.2c-.25/.50) to make more money (less rake = more profit) which would allow them to move up to higher stakes. This will improve the overall quality of the games by ten fold.

Overall if these changes was implemented with the WC system then the nits/24 tabling players would still recieve less VPP's than they are currently getting (rightly so) with the rest of the community benefiting in the long run.

well, i seriosuly mashed cashout. the sad thng is am not even a high volume player these days but i still want to send an FU to stars cos i have friends including a SNE who got there this year who are basically ****ed over by this after all their efforts to SNE ftw - but for me, I'll quite happily take m drunkern play elsewhere which i shall now down, cashout processed, axe in minivan. ps steve, you say u are listening and then u stay WC will remain..well thats the ****ing point of our problem. WC = bad, dont be foolish, backtrack all the way 100%.

and if you deny my cashout that I'll make just so I then sit out every damn table well then 2+2 will hear about it. loud. clear.

stars makes ~1.4m a day on ave...
if a 'sit-out' is enacted, even partially, that could affect them by a quarter mill+
which, if done enough, would be noticeable. let's say every Weds at 5pm EST?

it's not that i don't want to play on stars...
it's the fact that i don't want to be loyal to a site that's gonna hang me out to dry to the tune of five digits while they bank off their most loyal customers and call it 'fair'.
switch to WC just redistribute it so we all don't get f'd.
tell your new ceo to stop actin' like a d***.

Excellent post. IMO either this gets addressed or we need to continue with the plans to sit out.

Exactly my thoughts entirely. Very well put. I just wish the management at Stars would read these things and act accordingly. There would be no need for talk of a "sit-out" if they just made it all fairer. The only people who would be unhappy then are the 24 tabling low limit game wreckers leeching VPPs.

Also if we just let them implement these changes with no problems who knows where they'll draw the line in future.

Do they actually have new management? They've made some really bad business decisions post black friday.

I've decided with how fast this thread is evolving updating OP is a hopeless task. I'd have to update it every hour to keep it relevant. I'm just going to continue the discussion here.

The date/time is STILL Jan 1st at 12pm EST and the sitout should continue indefinitely until we see USEFUL changes.

So Stars saw our 24table sit-out plan and tries to make us not do it by making it even worse?

I think it sucks that it's the day after nye, but I also think it needs to start as soon as possible without hurting regs going for SNE this year. For those of you who will be too hung over to participate, this will be a long, long, sit out. So feel free to jump in whenever you wake up and are ready.

Yes Jan 1st. I've started my boycott as of yesterday but that was my decision. Keep emailing Stars, 6x multiplier for 6max and 20% addition to milestones to compensate for the loss in VPPs.

Is there a limit to how many tables you can sit on? And can they not just chuck you off/ban your account?

i think they are hoping 6max players will just back down because there's no more 5handed increase rake cap which would make the movement less strong since obv a decent amt of ppl where 6maxers.

Basically they prob included the 5handed thing so that ppl WOULD get all pissed off then when they change it back, they hope ppl will just say ahh, no big deal, it's not THAT bad, at least they listened to us, thereby masking the whole issue of switching to WC and offering no extra compensation.

Either devise a way to get ALL the lost $/fpp value to the fish (or players with lower vip levels as you like to call them), or provide extra compensation across the board. Pocketing the difference is unacceptable

This is the way to go with the protest along with sitout strike.
It looks as though stars is just about squeezing as much profit as they can out of the largest source for their rake. Contact the other sites, Party, Ongame, Ipoker, and 888. Give them a chance to make offers to bring high volume players over and generate millions in rake there. If money is where it really lies for stars losing big rake generators to other sites is what it might take to correct the greedy play they made. If other sites can offer a better deal then it may make since to move money over there.
