List of sites that stole players' money [March '12] List of sites that stole players' money [March '12]

Hey guys, I'm trying to create a list of sites that shut down and didn't pay out. I only have a few so far, but most google searches just refer to Black Friday.

- Full Tilt
- UltimateBet/Absolute
- Eurolinx
- PokerSpot

Don't see what good this list does. Are any of these companies still in business?

A better list would be of all the owners/decision makers connected w/ these sites.

Microgaming, Minted Poker, Everleaf are still in business.
People want to know what sites & networks to avoid.

It does not correspond with the title of this thread though because it is yet to be determined if the above have "stolen any player funds". And Tusk does not necessarily mean all Microgaming is bad

Okay fair enough, but Minted (Everleaf) has stolen Americans funds so until they pay up they need to be on this list.

Yes, google Futurebet and you will find a large number of sites they've run that went bust.

Except that many of their licensees are rogue and they do not care. In addition to over 20 Tusk skins, Eurolinx, Betonbet, Betholdem and 24Poker all went bust and players did not get paid. Bodog saved the Betholdem players with a WR, the others were all screwed while MG buried their head in the sand and acted like it was not their problem to make sure their licensees were liquid.

There is a clearinghouse where funds are held when players between two skins lose money. When all of these sites failed, it would appear MG just kept the money that was in it. Players that had won in the days before basically had MG take their money. MG has never denied that this happened. It has been discussed many times as players wondered what happened to these money they won on the network days before the closure of skins. There is no other explanation for where that money went.

Considering how the network works, it is hard to trust any site that continues to stay on a network where the head of the network cares zero about players and has decided when major skins fail it is not their problem as long as they get their rake. Any player that plays on the network should at least know the risks.

How about a list of sites that have no history of clear-cut stealing from players.

1) Pokerstars

2) ???

I go to their live help and get sent in circles and they tell me it is not their problem and that I should go to someone else. Apparently some select people have been given options to withdraw but they are impossible for US players. They lied about having player funds segregated. Since they won't talk to me or give me any sort of update or advice for withdrawing my money, it is as good as gone. I now consider my money to be stolen.

I will be pleasantly surprised if they ever cave to pressure from the European players and pay out the Americans. For them to consider this, we need a boycott from everyone who still plays on Everleaf until they (EL) decide it is worth their time pay what they owe. They even had the nerve to offer a nice reload bonus right before they locked out all US players. They are crooks and liars and this skin should be avoided at all costs.

Just because you consider your money stolen doesn't mean it is actually stolen lol. They're paying people, albeit slowly, and you can use the options provided to you although depending on how much money you have on the site I could see how they aren't exactly ideal.

Unfortunately that is the case for most poker networks out there these days

I am sure you will find people claiming that PokerStars has stolen their money, those threads on 2+2 are usually quite hilarious

@Thread: Is there 100% certainty that it won't happen? No. But you can reduce the risk by informing yourself before signing up and depositing ... the world wide web and Uncle Google provide lots of information.
