Hello, everyone.

We have received some reports of players receiving email from an address claiming to be a PokerStars.com address. In this email, players are asked to provide their password. The email in question is not from us, and this post is a reminder that PokerStars will never ask any player for their password.

The only place you should ever type your PokerStars password is into the password entry field when logging in to the site.

All the best,

Bryan S.

Wow, some people try everything to get your money nowadays... Maybe you should place a warning in the PS-Client, too. I think not al Players are reading this here frequently enough to get noticed

Blackriver is correct.

So is tooeazy fwiw.

I don't think it's that surprising that this is happening. I'm lined up with some different e-mail from work and I am now getting messages that evidently aren't being filtered as much from all sorts of places about "Lost Password" "Log in Now" etc etc that are pretty obvious phishing attempts from places claiming to be ebay, BoA, HBNC (or whatever that bank is), citi.

I also get random things from "you have been selected by WalMart to get a $100 gift certificate. Please CLICK HERE to claim your free WalMart gift-card!" or something like that which almost has to be some sort of evil link that you don't want to click.

Anyone at all with any internet saavy should know that it's all scams. But more and more people are on the internet now including people like my 65-year-old Mom who likely wouldn't be able to figure out how to tell the difference between a legit e-mail and a phishing attempt (she can barely figure out how to adjust the volume).

I'm just in awe of 40,000 posts. Does anyone in your real life know about that? What do they think? Do you have a real life?

This, most players on stars do not even know what 2+2 is.

We did indeed post a warning in the client; other Stars personnel were putting them up while I was posting on forums.

We had a discussion/celebration about this in the About the Forums forum in the "Space Reserved for Microbob's 40kth post" so you can check that out if you're really interested in this nonsense.

In my thread about my 30k post I mentioned that I told my GF about it. She is aware that I spend some time on here generally BS'ing but didn't know it was that many posts. Her exact quote was, "that's a f'ing lot of posts."

I generally don't text or IM or participate in chat-rooms like a lot of people do. I suspect if you counted up the texts or chat-room lines of a lot of people they would be close to where I am in total posts.

don't know about me actually having a real life. I am travelling around a lot calling hockey games on the radio which pretty much involves me talking to myself for hours on end...which is pretty similar to what I do on here I guess.

LOL...
But people need to know that NO ONE ask your password if it is a real message, they do this only on Phishing Scam mails.
This is valid for Pokerstars, Full Tilt, Citybank, 2+2...

When people will learn that?

By the way, where I have to send my bankroll to get it doubled? Sounds interesting!!!!
