pricey compared to what?

The token lasts several years so the price is lower still if you amortize it.

Clearly the casual 2NL player should stick with the random pad PIN system.

i'm not saying it's not worth $100 to protect your thousands and am still considering getting one even though i got pretty strong protection on my comp and only play on it.

But stars is basically charging $100 for an item that doesn't cost that much and is pretty essential for anyone at midstakes or above. Those players really don't have a choice. So they can basically overcharge w/e they want and as long as it's not insanely overcharging they can get away with it no problem.

5 tokens, $54 a piece and i'm sure stars can get them at a discount

and they are charging $100 to the player. That is what i'm alluding to.

you get my point. I doubt it costs stars $100 and either way they should be practically handing these things out to prevent people losing bankrolls.

If you were new to the game and searched google and found all these threads of people getting accts hacked, wouldn't you be turned off from depositing?

ludacris, while i'd love to see stars offer these at a highly reduced rate (even though i already have mine), i think that people who play poker are wise enough to do a cost/benefit calculation and decide if it's worthwhile

i trust them when they say the price reflects the cost to them - you should understand that the cost of providing these isn't the same as the cost of manufacture or even the cost that tokens are sold for another purpose

Re: I Got My PokerStars RSA SecureID Token Today! *PIC*

I had no idea these things were that expensive. I'd been using one for a bank account for a few years now, and that one was given to me free by the bank.

This is a good feature though and I hope that more poker rooms implement added security for users.

My roll on Stars isn't that big at the moment so it's not worth protecting yet, but if I manage to get it up, then I will order one of these tokens.

x2. My bank gave us these things for free. While this is nice, I would only get one if I had a lot more $ in my stars account. $100 does seem kind of expensive for one of these, hopefully the cost will go down in the future.

I ordered my token 8 days ago, and it arrived this morning! It took < 1min to set it up and secure my account.

PS I LOVE YOU. You are the best... :kisses:
