Re: Hollywood Poker $1M Guaranteed pays only $553k
Well impressed by HP.I doubt if any other Ongame/Bwin site, that advertised this wrongly, will be doing the same.

Speaking of hollywood poker, can you have player transfers on there? because I can't find this option and am wondering where it is? Thanks in advance.

You have started in this thread behaving like a douchebag and such do you end as well. Pitiful.

Re: Hollywood Poker $1M Guaranteed pays only $553k
Rizeagainst has come accross 100 times worse then Hollywood poker ITT. Disgraceul carry to send threatening PM's to the only person who will make any attempt to sort it out. Everyone will agree that if every poker site had a rep pn 2+2 they could contact it would make life so much easier, but I'd say any poker site will be hugely put off after reading this thread.

I'm also going back through emails and don't see anything about the changes to the grand tournament. So as you can tell this isn't going to happen over night.
I'm posting here as a HollywoodPoker Rep to help all of you, I'm not sure how clear I have to make this. Rather than accusing of stealing try and understand a mistake happened, and we are in the process of fixing it.
rizeagainst- I'm not sure what your problem is, your analogy's are also wrong. Most of our team was in London for CAP Euro, with flight delays over the past two days, some are just returning back. We aren't ignoring or stalling, we need to figure what happened first, before rectifying the problem. Also if the roles were reversed we would be handling it in the same fashion. As BoBo said, take it down a notch. Are you even a HP player?
We obviously didn't do this on purpose. Sites cancel tournaments daily because they don't hit their guarantee numbers and we aren't one of them. We let the tournament run. Be patient and we will make things right. As I'm sure the other skins will to.
I will not be online tomorrow, I fly out of Heathrow (This will be delayed for hours) and have quite a long flight home. Me not being here is not me ignoring this.
Thanks,
Chris

1) Sort your guarentees out
2) Sort your spelling, grammar and syntax out
Your a representative of your site. I've never seen Scotty lax on his spelling or grammar. You're response makes me trust HP less than OPs post.

I received a call from Chris personally today, notifying me that the balance of the prize money corresponding to a $1M pool would be deposited to my account shortly.
Given the heated nature of the discussions, I just wanted to be fair to Chris and HP and note the following:
1. Chris delivered on his initial promise within a very short time of arriving back in his office. I'm a cynical guy who's dealt with a lot of corporate PR people but Chris's manner was refreshingly genuine. There was no corporate double speak, excuses, or hedging - just a straightforward delivery on his commitment. (I wish my phone company worked this way).
2. After hearing what had caused the mix-up, I'm convinced that there was no ill intent on the part of Hollywood Poker and that their response to the situation was exactly what I would hope for in a poker site.
3. I'm also reasonably convinced that Hollywood Poker would have resolved this issue fairly without prodding from the community. You'll have to form your own opinion on that but, after talking with Chris, I'm pretty confident of my conclusion.
As a courtesy, I'll leave commentary on the reasons for the prize issues to Chris and his team. But, having worked extensively in the internet industry, I can say that his explanation of what happened made perfect sense to me. This includes the timing of events.
So credit where credit's due.
At the end of the day, Hollywood stood up and took the hit on what was a pretty expensive mix up, to the benefit of the players in the tourney. This is exactly what many people said a reliable ethical site would do, and Hollywood came through and did it.
I couldn't really ask for more than that.
Cheers

I think youmissed the entirethread.
And I assume the payouts based on the 1million guarantee were only paid out to HP players. They dodged a bullet if a non-HP player finished first.

Haven't read any further yet, but they aren't looking at a $447k loss. The tournament is network wide. It's likely that only a few of the entrants came from Hollywood poker - let's say 50 from the 553 that entered. Therefore, Hollywood likely owe more like $50k. Sites that advertised a $750k guarantee owe less and sites that advertised $500k owe nothing.
