I'm far from being a luckbox, and it's far from being standard. Yes maybe it happens all the time to somebody somewhere, but then so does getting run over by a car. Do you consider that standard?

You get dealt aces on average once every 221 hands.

Assuming you ran into a smaller pair everytime which you don't the odds of losing 6 in a row is 15625-1.

So for every 3453125 hands played (221 x 15625) it will on average happen at least once.

For somebody it could happen in their first 10000 hands, while somebody else might have to play 10 million before it happens, but on average it would happen every 3.4 million hands for each person. As most people won't even play close to that number of hands in their lifetime I expect most people will never have it happen to them.

I can't tell you how many times (at least 100 times the past thee weeks) where someone needs one card, especially two or three hours into a tournament, and they hit when odds are 90 to 95% in my favor.

You tell yourself that's poker until it happens time after time after time.

I enjoy playing poker online but I'm about ready to give it up. There doesn't seem to be a site to where it plays out like a casino. You see bad beats in a casino but NOTHING like Full Tilt and Poker Stars back when I played over on that site.

Curious as to others observations. Is there a site that's on the up and up or is it time to retire from online poker where you start to get the feeling the deck literally is stacked against you?

What is a "normal amount"?
who determines "normal"?
who defines "normal"?
What is "normal"?

For instance, in one day, I had an 8 buyin upswing, then a 4 buyin downswing, then another 8 buyin upswing, playing a single table. Is that normal?

FTP totally rigged and so is da *******, wake up and smell the coffee.

DUPLICATE poker is the only one that's not rigged. It's the only legal form of poker.

I believe that all online poker sites RNG's are rigged to give the illusion of miraculous hands and excitement for the avg/ordinary player to want to keep coming back to their site because, "I made a Royal Flush on FTP I'm gonna play there."

Re: Is Full Tilt rigged?

Anybody had any free money from an online casino to try out their slots or BJ ? Hmm... i've had and the times you get that freebie you get all the 21-s and so on. So why not the same with poker- they would do it only to get more customers. And then the fools go to the tables and think that they still run like gods and get all the royals and full-houses ? Just guessing i'm actually smart enough to win but it's a theory and you can't just ignore it when there is a possibility for certain things to happen ?
If i had a business i'd like to have as much control over my business as possible. So why not the same with pokerrooms ?

I had a brief stint @ FTP and while clearing the initial deposit bonus I actually ran much worse than usual so I would be one exception to the above.

It's just a matter of smart business. The risk vs reward of running a corrupt site. These sites are generating billions of dollars in rake. There is absolutely no way they would jeopardize that by running "rigged", "stacked", or whatever have you software. If word ever got out it would absolutely destroy there billion dollar enterprise.

Super-user scandal would be nothing compared to rigged software. No way, no how is this going to happen from reputable sites/networks. Not only would it be illegal, but it would be just idiotic to do when they are making so much money legit.

Re: Is Full Tilt rigged?

Using Binomial Probability Equation:

Assuming the following:

- all-in pre-flop each time with AA
- exactly one caller with an underpair
- 80% to win the hand (4 out of 5 chance to win the hand)
- 20% to lose the hand (1 out of 5 chance to lose the hand) ... no split pots

2 times (out of 2 hands) in a row: 4% (1 in 25 chance)
3 times (out of 3 hands) in a row: .8% (1 in 125 chance)
4 times (out of 4 hands) in a row: .16% (1 in 625 chance)
5 times (out of 5 hands) in a row: .032% (1 in 3125 chance)
6 times (out of 6 hands) in a row: .0064% (1 in 15625 chance)

What I'm saying is if we tracked your next six situations where you were all-in pre-flop with AA versus an underpair, there is roughly a 1 out of 15625 chance of you losing all six hands. I only say roughly, because 80% is a very general estimate. Remember, suit combinations, how far gapped the pairs are, and the chances of chopped pot all slightly affect the actual probability.

Frendly Reminders:
- Multi-way pots can reduce the chances of AA winning.

- Our minds can play tricks on us. We sometimes exxagerate things in our mind, and overfocus on all the bad beats, and completely overlook the situations where AA won us an uncontested and/or small pot.

- There will be times when the cards completely misbehave. Manage your bankroll accordingly, so you can survive bad runs like these.

- There will be times whe the cards completely misbehave (part 2). Your job as a poker player is to try to minimize your losses whenever possible. Minimizing losses affect long-term profits as much as maximizing our winning hands.

I do not believe that PS or most sites are rigged. But you might want to visit APCW.org and read their audit on FTP. I will not play at FTP.

Re: Is Full Tilt rigged?

Someone take a look at my sharkscope graph. Almost on cue, after every 750 games I play go on a downswing. It's like they see that I'm winning too much a flip the switch on me for a few days where I breakeven/lose, then back to normal again. Normally I'm not one to jump on the "online poker is rigged" bandwagon but I won't even play hold'em cash games anymore because of how badly I am coolered every time I play. I mean honestly, it is really possible to run KK into AA every session you play?? (oh and I only play 2-3 tables at a time for about an hour or two) I'm not exaggerating either...if I were to play 3 tables for 2 hours, GUARENTEE I run KK into AA (i'd bet money on it).

Re: Is Full Tilt rigged?

To those that respond to "online poker is rigged" posts, you are the ones who make these threads really big and really popular. That is a good thing for the poker forum.

Therefore to those of you who have been posting that "online poker is rigged", keep up the good work, don't listen to the naysayers, try to send us proof if you can, but if not, keep up with the posts, try to post one or 2 new threads a day.

The ones that believe that it's not rigged want to respond with their opinions, the demand for these threads is high, keep it up!

Well, lets call it 92.5% you lost 100 times with.

The odds of this are 113 zeros followed by a 3.

or if I convert to %:

.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000003%

My math may not be exact, but pretty close I think.

So the odds were pretty low of this happening.

But by golly you stuck with it. Now, me personally, if I got to the point of 1 in 100,000 or 1 in 1,000,000 I might consider quitting.

But you blew right past 1 in a million, billion, trillion without even blinking an eye, and you were just getting started.

Now that's dedication.

And after all of this:

how many hands per game? are these stt's? let's say you average at least 40 hands per stt for the sake of argument.... that would mean that every 30,000 hands or so, you run bad. a graph of running bad every 30k hands or so is entirely standard, not proof of riggedness.

Re: Is Full Tilt rigged?

you have to remember that the bigger the pot the rake stays the same so there is no reason for a site to do that, then again what i just said is wrong. Superusers never existed and let's face it full tilt is very upfront about the auditing of there rng, then again that isn't true as well. in 1980 the daily number wasn't fixed, notions that it could ever be done are false...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Pe...ottery_scandal
