For those of you who don’t already know, I am “pokergirl z” (Full Tilt), “Sillysal” (WSEX), and “Mad Haddie” (PokerStars). My former boyfriend had “Greggo777 (Full Tilt), which I played occasionally.
As many of you know, I was accused and convicted of being a bot on Full Tilt Poker and consequently had $47,000 dollars confiscated. I believe that I was reported to FTP by MrGatorade (who plays as “Thorpie” on PokerStars) as a bot player. I realized that by the end of the original Sillysal thread (see:
Full Tilt Froze My Account With 47 Grand In It) that discussed the facts, opinions and the handling of the case by FTP, sentiment swung from initially being supportive of my situation to skeptical, at best, of my innocence. It was very frustrating for me as once you are accused of being a bot there is no real quantifiable means of defending yourself. And what makes matters worse is that your funds are then distributed to other players which creates a financial motivation to point the finger at your fellow poker player.
MrGatorade claims that he has methods for detecting bots. He has become a self-appointed “bot-hunter” vigilante who is not qualified to be a master sleuth or even a security guard at Wal-Mart (with all due respect to Wal-Mart) with his “wanna-be cop” attitude. MrGatorade has accused me of being a bot for years and on several occasions has given out the phone numbers and/or email addresses of the poker sites’ security to put pressure on the site to have me barred and my money confiscated. He claims that “stats don’t lie” – but the fact is, he lies. Just because my stats are similar to other good players does not make me a bot. If 100 human players used David Sklansky’s pre-flop requirements, then by Gatorade’s logic, those 100 humans would be bots.
Having lost the battle at Full Tilt was devastating to me personally as I was put in the impossible position of having to prove the negative, that I was not a bot. I knew I had to protect myself and the only way I could think of doing that was to install video cameras that recorded me playing. Perhaps now I can provide some evidence of my innocence, as stated by an independent and highly respect third party (Poker Stars) with visual proof of MrGatorade falsely identifying me as a bot while I play him (
See link).
Let me finish by saying that Poker Stars’ statement, after investigating my play, was that I was “unquestionably” not a bot. MrGatorade’s crusade to clear the field of good players by labeling them bots must be stopped. He has undoubtedly hurt many other innocent players in his quest to clear the field of competition. Don’t be fooled into thinking he is just looking out for the “best interest of the game.” MrGatorade is getting an edge on the game every time he successfully has a legitimate competitor barred from playing. For every winning player he can have removed from the field, such as myself, there’s more pie he can take for himself.
Please don’t be persuaded to support him in hopes of getting a rebate of confiscated money from winning player’s accounts. This McCarthyism is not good for the game as a whole, and disastrous for honest players who may be unable to prove their innocence within a system that in many cases appears to lack open, fair and objective investigations.
I know that there are many people out there experiencing the same harassment from MrGatorade (and any of his alter egos or network of associates). We must campaign together and put a stop to his selfish abhorrent behavior.
I have three things that I hope to accomplish with this posting. First, I want my play cleared. I have never and will never use a bot to play any of my accounts on the internet. Secondly, I want my money returned to me from Full Tilt Poker. I did not deserve to have it taken from me. And finally, MrGatorade’s misdeeds towards all of us needs to be exposed and eliminated. The poker sites we play on need to recognize MrGatorade’s scam and stop him from using their companies to accomplish his thieving goals.
I hope that after viewing these
video clips and reading the validation provided by Poker Stars I have helped to confirm and explain some things that, up until now, have only been speculation. I will say this one more time – I have never and will never use a bot to play any of my accounts on the internet.
Thank you, Sillysal
