OK I keep putting this off and putting this off. I've never withdrawn from my account because I know from reading here that they're going to suspend my account while they do security verification. The problem is I'm addicted to their iron man promotions. I try to get the one-a-day 15 medals any month that I can and to play at least 25 days to get the highest iron man level I can get. But with Dec. 1st looming I figure I better at least get some of my winnings out.

Has anyone tried emailing them before making their first withdrawal request and just asking to verify their identity before making the request. Would that prevent them from suspending the account while they do their check? I really don't want to have to wait like a week for my account to be playable again.

Just wondering if anyone has actual experience trying something like that.

That's what I did.

I just sent them an email with my driver's license and a copy of a bank statement verifying address.

They emailed me back in like 30 minutes and said that they verified my identity and that I was ok to withdraw checks.

I didn't request a check for like 90 days after that and had no problems.

Thanks! That makes me feel so much better. After all the horror stories on here I was sort of dreading dealing with the verification.

Just make sure to tell them that you are sending it in ahead of time because you want to request a check.

I don`t know what u deposited on fulltilt with.I use moneybookers for deposit/withdraw and fulltilt didn`t ask for any ID verification.I have my moneybookers account verified so if u use the same option u could avoid an ID check by fulltilt. If u withdraw by check or other option it`s a big chance u have to prove your ID.

I opened this account years and years ago back way before the UIGEA. So, I'm 90% certain I just used a credit card. Since I haven't closed any of my credit cards I should be fine. I really didn't play much on full tilt until the UIGEA and learned about rakeback. Hooray for being too stupid to find an affiliate when I opened my account. :-)

I just assumed they're mostly concerned with verifying my identity and that I'm over 21. We'll see how it goes.

Now that almost every site asks for Identity Verification for Withdrawals I do mine in advance. Most of the sites tell you when you log into the webpage interface what verification documents they require (if not contact support). I sent all mine to my 8 poker sites shortly after depositing. That way when it comes time to make any Withdrawals, they just immediately process because my verification is done.
I have noticed a ton of posts in 2+2 the past several months with people going ballistic about this. I don't know why they get their panties in a bunch. Would they want someone to be able to walk into their bank and make a withdraw from their bank account without providing ID?

Putting "Urgent" in the email subject and using a utility disconnect notice to verify adress seemed to get a quick response.

What are you talking about suspension of account? I recently finally sent in my ID verify documents too because im cashing out regularly now. I play every day. It took them a day before they got back to me, and my account was not suspended at all. Plus, my ID was verified, but my bank statement wasnt sufficient enough (it didnt have my address on it, i didnt notice). I did not have time to scan a different statement until about 3 days later, and my account still worked the whole time.

Why can't you just change the address listed on your account?

Click Account >> Change Personal Details on the FT software.

because they have blocked me till i give the correct docs........ and this is what they say
As for your proof of address document, we require that you submit one of the following:

* Bank or credit card statement.
* Utility bill.
* Cell or home phone bill.
* Home or auto insurance papers.

Please note, that the documents must show your full name and the same address listed on your Full Tilt Poker account.

Your address verification document must meet the following requirements:

* It must be dated within the last 60 days.
* It needs to be a full page and complete (bill/pay stubs, folded papers, envelopes, and partial sections are unacceptable).
* It must display your full name and the same address listed on your Full Tilt Poker account.
* Bills must clearly display the company's letterhead or official logo.
