FTP Update 7/11
Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of communication yesterday, everyone was hard at work making sure we got as many fixes into today's update as possible.
Fixed in today's update:
1. Missing cards - We're confident this is fixed. Please, if you see this at all after today's update, let me know, providing as many details as possible about your computer, what you were playing, and what other software you were running at the time.
2. Hanging at the Connection (shuffling cards) screen - This should be fixed.
3. Hanging when you open the Store or other web windows - This should be fixed.
4. Needing to run as Administrator - This is fixed going forward. Unfortunately, anyone who has updated in the last few days will still need to do it for this update (since it was an updater issue and we can't update a past updater, if that makes sense).
5. Sorting of the Past Transactions - This should now be fixed. It sorts by "Time Stamp" with the most recent at top by default now. Sorting by "Transfer #" is still fairly useless.
6. Last Hand Replayer - This should now work for everyone, even if you have a non-English OS. If you still can't see the replayer, let me know, again providing as many details as you can.
Things we couldn't fix for this update:
1. "Hanging" at the Login screen - As some have figured out, this looks to be a sound library issue (Phonon, to be exact) with some sound cards / sound drivers. We're working with the vendor who provides that library to solve the issue, and hope to have it resolved within a few days.
If you have this issue, it would be helpful if you could PM (or post) the kind of computer you have, the sound card, and the sound driver (if you know how to do that). The easier it is for us to reproduce, the faster we can find a fix. This is currently our number one priority to fix.
2. Some people are reporting "lag" when they first start the client - This isn't something that's possible to "fix" because it's actually somewhat by design. We're loading a number of things right when the game launches, which causes the computer to be very active for a little bit, resulting in slightly slower dialog open/close time (like the login dialog or the very first table you open). Once everything is up and running, though, things should be very snappy and responsive.
If that's not the case, again, please provide as many details as possible about the exact nature of your problem and anything else (computer, what you were doing, what other programs were running) that might be useful.
Very sorry for these issues, and I promise we're working as hard and as fast as we can to fix everything. Thanks for your continued feedback, and please keep it coming.
Doug

Re: FTP Update 7/11
As someone who was getting horrid lag before, I am lag free for the moment.
Table focus still needs fixed DOUG.....If I am in a Firefox window or HM or AIM, I want my FT table to pop to the front on action...this is very IMPORTANT
It is impossible to stack tables right now and m,akes FT unplayable for anyone that stacks tables

Re: FTP Update 7/11
I know I have been very vocal on this topic for the last 3-4 days ( as many have ) but I have to say that everything seems to be up and running for me ( and has been for the last two days ) and I am really liking all of the new updates.
Yes, I even am used to the new cards. I know MODS are out there, but I think I am going to stick with these. I would like the four color option, to include a SOLID color for the cards, because for me on my computer, the multi color ( displayed on the suits of the cards ) still seems blurry, so I will not be using that feature. The rest of the card issues though, I am used to them now, and its ok. ( Still like the old ones better, but not worth bitching about :P ) Perhaps down the line, we could include in the options some other decks, but I can wait.
The client runs so much smoother....I like the hand re players, also a nice feature. I would like for the re player to actually show all the exposed cards upon starting though...I do not really see the point of having the opponents cards face down at the start of the re player. We know their hand, so why not just have it face up. That is my only little suggestion. I also havent used it much, and perhaps this is already in check, but if there is a way to just jump to a stage in the hand IE Turn, or right to the River, that would also be good. ( Maybe you can )
I did have something else ( nothing major ) and for the life of me it escapes me.
Again, now that its working ( and I so hope for most of 2p2 now it is up and running ) I am very happy with this. Heck, its just nice to be able to play again, but I have to give credit where credit is do and I do like all of the improvements.

I dont think they have time to implement ANY new features right now. ^^
It was only the 2. Hotfix for the Major Update. And (even I got stoned now for this statement) my client is now working better than last week. And I like the Hand Replayer, nicer than the one from Stars.

Doug, address how 3 days of not being able to play affects iron man and the mid-year iron man bonus.

Re: FTP Update 7/11
Thanks for the hard work and keeping us informed, Doug.
Hand replayer looks fantastic.
For those of you who hate the new lo-res cards and missed it, one of the first threads has a fix of how to replace them with the normal cards, works like a charm.
