Its funny cuz I signed up way back at the beginning of 2005 for some random tourneys and didn't start playing a lot til last year. Finally last month I got a $500 ironman bonus and worked that off and withdrew all but a $100. then came the $75 bonus which I worked through.

I had finally concluded FT just didn't want my play and had made the decision to bail out after one last order of business; I have about 85k points and want to pick up the 32GB Ipod touch when it comes to the store.

So I guess if they send me an email, I'll redeposit and if not I had already made the decision to leave so no worries. Hard to believe though when I have provided over $7k in rake for what I remember to be a $600 signup bonus.

Yeah, they are only doing this for players who signed up directly through FTP, not an affiliate.

That is really ****ty. Apparently I signed up through an affiliate way back when I first joined, though I didn't get anything special because of it except for FT's standard first time signup bonus. Now some lousy affiliate gets credit for me forever for doing nothing for me.

Confirmed this by emailing FT affiliate support.

Sad thing is no one benefits. Not me because I don't get rakeback, and not FT and whoever I signed up through because I won't play there and generate any rake for them without rakeback.

Alot of people in the same boat. I signed up through PSO before they started offering rakeback. I repeatedly asked FT to not let me switch affiliates, just let me have my account changed to revenue sharing w/PSO since they offer rakeback now for FT.

Also offered to even pay back whatever PSO made from my initial signup, so would be win/win for everyone. They wouldn't budge, so I haven't played there in almost 2 years now.

Was everyone that is getting the email still playing at FTP without rakeback before they got this offer? Or had you stopped playing for a least a couple of months and were on FTPDoug's list of players that wouldn't play there without RB?

I signed up 3 or 4 years ago directly before I had ever heard of rakeback. Play mostly Stars now. If Fulltilt would give me rakeback I would make them my primary site.

I've been waiting for this chance. Getting rakeback through fulltilt would be about the only thing to get me to leave stars. I do have to wonder though how tight the tables will become if every 2 + 2 multi-tabler jumps ship at the same time. hmmm. . .maybe I should keep playing at stars. . .

Guess I'm hosed; not sure where they are going with the "alternative to rakeback" comment.

Hello xxxx,

Thank you for your email. From viewing your account I can see that you
are tagged to another affiliate. As this is the case I can save your
details to our data base for further consideration, with regard to an
alternative to Rakeback. Please let me know if this is something you
would be interested in.

I look forward to hearing from you,

I have yahoo also and havn't got a email from full tilt in over a year. I do get them if I deposit/withdrawl but don't get the newsletter/anouncments anymore. I'm wondering if I missed it too. I get over 100 emails a day in my spam folder so it would of been easy to miss. I also hated those stupid "tips from the pros" emails they used to send so I may have blocked it.

I dunno, I pretty much read it as sorry charlie. They are probably changing the response in order to pacify what must be a decent amount of email traffic to their team.

One thing is certain, everytime they do some kind of alternative, they provide it to the RB folks as well; think Ironman. I sure hope that my mystery affiliate has enjoyed the thousands I have generated for the 20 dollars a month they put into a website; whoever they are. I feel like a kid who stole a car and my one mistake has branded me for life....

i signed up directly through ftp in late 2002, early 2003.

anyhow, i PM'd doug and emailed support about 2 months ago. they said they would put me on a list. i thought it was bs.

3 days ago i get an email that i have been selected for RB. sign up through rakebackpros. check my RB account today and find out they are back-dating all the rake from 2/1/08 and forward.

life is good

Yeah, I guess you are right about the pacification. Seems more likely then them actually working on a meaningful alternative.

It's worse then being punished for stealing imo, it feels more to me like being punished for naively buying into a scam and getting ripped off.

I think they are just giving the canned response: "only available to a limited amount of people as of now; we'll put your name down on our list for the future"

This is making me even more miserable than when no-one could get rakeback on an existing account. It's a bit of a catch-22, I'm sure they are only offering this to active accounts, and there is no way that I would consider playing on the site without rakeback. Congrats to those that did get the offer, though!

this is exactly what it was for me. i wasn't playing as many hands as many of you guys are stating but i just stopped playing at FT completely because of no rake back. then after a month or so of no-activity on my account, i received the email about rakebackpros.

something smells fishy. my brother went to the sign up page. it asks for normal information.....name, email but then it asks for a password then asks you to confirm the password......ok, very normal but why does the actual password show up in the first box but in the confirmation box, its in dots like both boxes should be.

i have never seen this before with anything on the web that asks for a password. typed passwords always show up as dots on the screen.

this is pissing me off.

Likewise here - I created an account at FTP about a year ago & didn't know enough about rakeback at the time to have that linked to my original account.

Never deposited to the original account and don't intend to.

To get rakeback, I set up a new account & emailed FTP support asking about the old account etc. Even though I'd never deposited to the old account & never will deposit to the old account (infact I asked them to close it before I deposited to the new one), they just sent me a 1 paragraph email saying "your new account has been closed under the TOC, please continue to play on the old account" (if they'd bothered to read my email, they would have noted that I am never going to play on the old account and want it closed).

I'm a bit surprised with their lack of interest, as I explicitly told them that I would not be depositing if I couldn't get rakeback & they just dismissed everything I had to say. Honesty =/= smart with FTP support lol
