For reference, previous answers thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...1-26-a-643111/

So today there was supposed to be a big update. Unfortunately, unexpected things happen in software development. What this means is that the update has been moved to January. We don't have a date set yet, but we're hoping it'll be the 2nd or 3rd week.

Since we aren't going to be able to give those promised changes by the end of the year, I at least wanted to give a little information about the nature of the changes, so some of the speculation can end. To answer the most commonly asked question: we *are* going to raise the minimum buy-in on standard (no icon) tables. That’s not all we’re going to do, but that’s the biggest change. And that's all I can say about that until the update.

Sorry about the delay, we're all pretty excited about the next update and weren't happy to see the date get moved.

Questions:

1. late registration is an issue for me. most tournament are one level, but some are two, and occasionally there's a full four levels right? its fairly confusing. can you put on the tournament window somethin like levels of late registration remaining

- Yep, we're going to do just that. Still a ways off, though.

2. more Fixed Limit O8 MTTs pleeeeeease

- I'm going to get around to looking at this, I promise!

3. Yes the note box behind the table is still happening. This also happens with the confirmation box when closing a table. XP SP3 + HEM.

- Out of curiosity, have you ever seen this happen when HEM wasn't running?

4. It's not that big a deal, but again if we did not have to confirm on every table when closing the client it would be nice.

- We have a "2-click exit" feature planned, but I don't have any kind of timeline for it.

5. Any chance of adding some 45 man Double Stack KO Turbo? Like the 90 man SNGS you currently have.

- Not a big one, no. They sort of die on the vine without being added to the main tournament lobby, and we already have a lot of multi-table SNGs in the main tournament lobby.

6. What about resizing the table so they can fit common resolution (1900x1200) with no empty space and no overlap ?

- We don't have any immediate plans for this, but it sounds like a good idea and I'll bring it up with some people.

7. so where is the new VIP program?

- Still in the early planning stages. I clearly jumped the gun on leaking anything about this, and for that I apologize. I shouldn't have gotten any hopes up too soon. It's still a good number of months away...

8. there is a $15 SuperTrubo 45man sng , why not some $30,$45,$75 and $169 ?

- I'll look into it, but the problem is they probably wouldn't go off very often without being in the main tournament lobby.

9. Anyone even mentioned the thought of cleaning up the personal tables that consume the lobby? Surely at least half of the tables reserved players haven't even logged into ftp in the past year? I know players "paid" for them, but perhaps there can be a way to remove some while remaining diplomatic?

- We're kicking around a few ideas for this. I agree it's gotten pretty cluttered.

10. Please have the "do you want to take this seat?" dialog remember where I last positioned it.

- I believe we're going to get to this in one of the new few updates. Definitely planned.

11. Any word on running it twice at lower stakes?

- It's down to $2/$4 now. I'm not sure when we'll be going lower. So I guess the answer is "no word," sorry.

12. does the iron man end of the year bonus need to be worked off or does it just get credited instantly?

- It needs to be worked off. Clearance rate is $0.05/FTP.

13. You mentioned a couple updates ago that you'd be adding tournament tickets to the FTP store. How soon do you think they will be added?

- First half of 2010 is my best guess, but that's only a guess.

14. Can you add 6-max super turbo sit'n'goes with same buy ins as the heads up and 9max ones

- Sure.

15. Occassionally, I still get the "invalid bet amount" from the blinds on ante tables.

- I believe this should be fixed in one of the next couple updates.

16. The bet amount will sometimes not ever show for just 1 or 2 players at the table (but shows for all the others).

- We're still having a really hard time reproducing this bug. If there's any extra information you can provide about what you're doing when it happens (what kind of OS you have, third party apps, what you're playing, etc...) that would be really helpful.

17. can you please add a $3 1 rebuy 1 addon between 3pm east and 7pm?

- Added one at 17:30 ET.

18. Whenever I save a custom lobby setting in favourites it disappears the next time I log in. I've tried doing this several times with various lobby settings and nothing has worked. I am running full tilt as an administrator with full control if that's at all relevant. Anyone else had this problem and/or know how to fix it?

- How do you close the program when you quit? If you don't close it "normally" then it's possible the settings aren't being saved out to the proper places.

19. Please add a sit out next BB for ante tables.

- This is coming in one of the next couple of updates.

20. How about when we join a cash game table that has one empty seat, there is a button that just sits us down, and doesn't make us open the table first then sit down. Like where the join waiting list button usually is, there is a take seat now button. I hate when I open the table just to see someone else sit down before I have a chance to click the seat.

- I'll look into it.

21. How about a clock on tournament tables telling you how long to the next level/break, so you don't have to keep clicking on tourney info.

- No plans for this, but if a lot of people wanted it maybe we'd reconsider. Do you have any thoughts as to exactly where on the table that information would go that wouldn't be distracting or overlap with other table elements?

22. in Super Turbos, if someone disconnects they have 90 seconds to reconnect. Maybe this could be shorter, as you lose 30% of a level.

- If the tournament is down to the final table (or if it was just one table to begin with) the tournament clock will pause if someone disconnects. You're right that it's pretty annoying when you aren't down to the final table, though. The disconnect timebank is a global setting for the player (meaning there's only the one number per player, it doesn't change on a per tournament/table basis), so I don't know what we could do to solve this without turning off disconnect timebanks entirely for Super Turbos.

23. Is it possible to keep tourneys visible in the lobby until the next day's version of that tournament begins?

- All of the guarantees are in the game for at least a day. The regular tournaments go away in 6-12 hours after they're over. This is done to keep the lobby smaller (less data to send). We could look into increasing that number for some tournaments, but I doubt we'd do it for all of them.

24. on the left side of the lobby, where you rotate ads, it would be cool if thre were some arrows we could press to go to the next/previous ad, etc...

- Agreed, and I think this is planned eventually.

25. How about super turbo PLO hu sngs.

- I'll see what we can do.

26. 7 game 6-max 1 table sit and go's. The 8 max ones never run.

- I'm not sure the 6-max version will be any more popular if the full ring isn't going off, but we can experiment a little.

27. is it possible to make 180p $8 into SNGs instead of running them on a schedule?

- It's possible, yes. I'm not sure it's desirable, though. They go off every 50 minutes right now, which is very likely faster than they would if we turned them into SNGs.

28. HU HORSE ... 5/10, 8/16, 30/60, 50/100. What's with the huge jump from 8/16-30/60? Can you add 15/30 like you have with every other game?

- Looked like a mistake. Fixed.

29. why don't your tables always pop to front, every session at least 3 times some tables won't pop to front. Im not timing out, I know this for a fact

- We had a few problems with table focus a few months ago, but as far as I was aware they were all fixed. Everyone was screaming bloody murder when it wasn't working right, and since that's no longer the case I'm pretty confident it's no longer an issue for most people. What third party software are you using while you play? Is anyone else still having issues with tables not popping to front correctly?

30. would be nice to know if you have completed an academy challenge while playing. IE: maybe make a widget or something that tracks your challenge progress, or just a notification that pop's up that u completed a challenge.

- We actually have an Academy widget already. Click Customize in the bottom right of the Standard View and scroll the list of widgets. It often "lags" a bit behind real time because it's not actually part of the game, but it's still pretty useful.

31. add an option to auto-request time bank time if we run out of regular time.

- As others have mentioned, we don't have any plans for this.

32. I know this has been asked before, but how about some more time to clear the Iron Man end-of-year bonus

- Done. You now have 45 days to clear the bonus instead of 31.

33. Please add a 7-game $216 Sunday major

- I'm not sure it'll be a "Sunday major" but we'll look into getting a bigger weekly 7-game guarantee in the schedule.

34. I know filters are in development but it seems like a simple filter of FL/PL/NL could be used in the O8 menu.

- Filters aren't in development, they're in Standard View. Are you using Classic View, maybe?

35. A $200 Weekly Razz tourney like the Stud and Stud 8 ones please.

- We'll look into it.

36. Anyone know if player to player cash transfers take a rb mgr hit?

- They do not.

37. can you clarify whether or not there's a MGR hit for buying into donkaments (with or without overlay) with points please?

- There isn't currently an MGR hit for buying into a tournament with FTPs. It seems a bit like an oversight to me, though (since there's a hit for spending points everywhere else). I wouldn't be surprised if that was changed some day.

38. I am an HUsng player. In standard view when u ckick on a cash table you can see the name of the players alreadt sitting there in the side panel. But in HUSNG you have to actually open the table to see who is sitting there. Could we have it in the side panel too?

- Yep, we're working on a SNG player list widget.

39. could you see if you could add an option for players through the software to get their last xx amount of hand histories sent to the e-mail?

- Soon enough everyone will have access to the Hand History tool in their My Promotions page. Right now it's still in beta and around 50,000 players have access, but more are being added every week. From there you can make all sorts of requests for your hands.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Basically, hurry up and wait 1-6 months from now. Noted thanks. This is just wretched, Doug.

Nonetheless, Merry Christmas to you too.

Is there an auto-rebuy feature at FT or plans for one?

I wasn't delusional enough to think anything would actually happen by year's end, but glad to see the above!

I still appreciate Doug making the update post to tell us about the lack of very many updates. So, thanks to Doug for that, despite knowing that most of its responses are going to be complaining about the delay.

I like this a lot. 267 FTPs/day is significantly easier than 387 FTP/s, when I'm used to playing only 200/day.

Can I buy a bonus with IronMan Medals and clear it concurrently with this end-of-year bonus?

I've heard conflicting answers on whether i can do that. I'm sitting on 8000 Medals that i need to convert into bonus and want to know if i need to wait until February.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree w/ you here. I DO appreciate his keeping us "in the loop" somewhat, but my frustration isn't directed at Doug, directly, and I think he realizes this. It's the fact that updates/changes/etc. move at the pace of a glacier at FTP and it's damn frustrating consistently being told "down the road some more".

Whatever. Issues happen in software development. I can wait a month. I am beyond thrilled that they are raising the min buyin on the standard tables. I expect the number of tables running without shortstackers to increase significantly at midstakes because of this, which means I will play more tables there. This is so huge. thanks, FTP!!!
