Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
Skall just PM'd me. He said he still cannot take the case but he is actually looking for a lawyer for us. He also said the lawyer can be from any state. Once he comes up with a lawyer maybe someone can organize all of this - I'll be on board for a claim if it is mostly contingency based and someone else is doing a lot of the leg work.

Thanks

From what i understood from the official affadavit ( http://i53.tinypic.com/28sv7gz.png ) and looking up code 18 U.S.C., this is how you file a claim. The problem is, as mentioned in the thread, a lawyer spoke to the district attorney of our case in Florida and they consider the 1.8 millions dollars to be seized from Chargestream, not each individual...
I don't know of anyone that has attempted to file a claim, though.

yeah there is no question you would have to hire an attorney to go through with the claim.

Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
Alright guys Skallagrim found an attorney for us to take the case for UNCLEARED money. I am not willing to put more time into this but I am still on board if someone else wants to organize this. Me and cpar1 already formed a list of about 15 people with about 150k outstanding, and I'll happily get you in on that group if you want to do the leg work. You will have to contact the lawyer and explain everything to them and then report back your findings to the group. Once we get more information we can decide how, or if, we should proceed. If you're interested in doing this then PM me - if not I am just going to assume we're letting the government keep our money.

Well, Kardnel, i am not going to go at this alone. It looks like my 5500 and 1.795 million more dollars are going to be forfeited to the government. HEY at least it will reduce our countries deficit by .0000001285 percent!!!!
GG USA, you win.

If you go to the website listed it says this:
"Any person claiming a legal interest in the defendant property must file a verified claim with the court within 60 days from.............On this official government internet web site.............. then we have the addresses in fla"
What and where is this "official government internet web site"

Forfeiture.gov. The claim was only listed for 30 days though, which is why i made a link in this thread so we could always view it. I think you are confused though, in that you believe you can file a claim on that 'official government internet website.' This is incorrect, you just have 60 days to file the claim from the time it was LISTED on that official government website. Hope this helps (it won't, because we still need a large suit to win this case. Individual claims, especially those without a lawyer, have about .01% chance of succeeding).

Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
My thought was that if my claim was on record somewhere, and either the big guys who were screwed on 10's of thousands, won their suit, or for reasons unknown the doJ decided to to give the money they seized back (maybe .05% chance rather than ,01) My claim would be on record somewhere. BigOlTatties, Do you think sending the letters to fla for 88 cents is worth that shot.
Thanks.
Oh I also mentioned elsewhere I'm 57 have no assetts, tax issues , property. nothing. This seizure is putting me into bankrupsy, food stamps, hopefully a disability from various medical conditions. If it's any help for me to basically just be a pain in the ass, ask for discovery on everything, challenge the instances that the various lawyers here say are unsettled law, I'm happy to oblidge, perhaps with the help of as PPA attorney.

Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
Barton, you should most definitely be contacting the DOJ and your local representatives and tell them what this has done to you and ask them how to proceed.
I'd also contact news agency's. Don't expect/wait for anyone else to do this. I'm sure you can see this thread is dead and anyone has got their money is gone and disinterested.

Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
good idea, the paperwork involved in just getting the disability stuff going is a major pain in the ass. The bankrupsy, I am , no exageration getting 30 phone calls a day. I have one guy calls me 4 times in 20 min. I don't answer the phone anymore unless the person identifies themselves as a friend before the answering machine picks up.

Re: FOUND Quicktender/UMW "uncleared" Money!
So if I don't hire a lawyer, do I have any recourse? Also wondering if anyone has filed a claim on their own...
