Simple question to OP: What is it that you do want to do? Figure that out, and the path you should be on will become a lot clearer. Stop spending so much time doing things you don't want to do (or realize they are just the means to an end and suck it up), and more time doing the things you do want to do.
The trick is being honest. Even if it's "Man, I just want to sit in my basement and drink beer and play videogames forever" that's fine. Just own up to it, and then figure out how to free up as much time and money to spend on beer and video games as you can.

This.
I think OP should realize that he is still luckier than most. I live in the Philippines and have seen people living a harder life than OP. Makes me even think OP is nothing but spoiled as a kid and now whining about what he cant have as a grown up. Sheeesh OP, man up and grow some balls and quit being a ***. Start being responsible for your actions and stop blaming the people around you for being where you are in life.
And Jesus Christ making this thread in a poker forum. Dont you have any real friends IRL?
Also I think I have the short term answer for OP to jump start himself into having the motivation to go search, do and go about with his plans. I was in the same rut as he was and it has helped a lot. But again this is a short term solution and shouldnt be done long term.
But I dont think I should mention it here in the thread.
OP, feel free to pm me.

Tried to work some jobs but I have never been a good worker, and for some reason I find it difficult to actually do the things needed to be a "good employee" like showing up on time and all the rest of it. Now I have started a business, things are slightly better, but now I see the end of the poker coming. As more and better bots are made, and more and more people either can't deposit due to the economy or the complete lack of trust and interest in the poker sites (especially the ones that are left), I can see that if I ever want to have made my goals, now is the time to act.

These two statements would not normally be considered consistent.
Unless you mean that you BR was so small that even the most minor down swing knocked you out. (In which case, it wasn't so much that you sucked as that you weren't properly rolled.)
Of course, if you were multi-tabling on-line you may well find that off-line would never provide enough hands per hour to make up your necessary income, even if you could move up a couple of levels.

I think it's not about living better or worse than people in Africa or Philippines, it's more about being able to reach some goals that you set for yourself. And there I can understand OP.
I have an ok income from poker and not only poker, but I have some things that I want to accomplish in my life (not related to money or business) and constantly fail at doing so. That tilts me and makes me sad sometimes too. Eh.
OP's goal is to find a job that he would enjoy and make reasonable money from it, I dont think he should care how good or bad other people live.

Its never too late for education !!
And try to find a job in a huge company..payment is not so important at the beginning usually you have a chance to move inside the company over the time.
Me at sample get now 4 times more than at the beginning.
Also think about move to your job and live in another town if you see a real chance.
And sell your car you get a used reliable car for a few K that have 30 mpg instead 12, lower costs and lesser spendings help alot its like a better job.

+1. Excellent post.
My addition to it would be: if you want to play online poker and did enjoy it, you can look at moving to a country where it is legal--many people already have and it just depends on how badly you want it. I live overseas (am American, but moved overseas ten years before BF) and make my living at poker online. Bots are an issue and will be, but they are not insurmountable by any means.
There are a fair number of self-help books (most useless, but good ones exist); maybe browse some on Amazon and see if any speak to you at all. You may want to essentially sell everything and start over somewhere new with nothing but the very basics and build up from there--often who and what we have around us hold us in a life that we don't care for at all; letting go of these friends/things and starting again in a new place gives us a chance to build up closer to what we envision ourselves with an actual plan to work from. I've done this once before (ergo overseas now) and am very happy with the result. Good luck.

I assumed it meant that a good chunk of what he made was/is frozen on FT. I might have been wrong, but it is possible.

Reading your post I think you are maybe in your late 30's early 40's living a mediocre life. You have a wife who works in an office and just makes enough, you have maybe 1 maybe 2 kids. All your life you were just average but, like the rest of us, you have big dreams. You have read books on how to be successful even tried to 'apply' yourself in different endeavors hoping to make it big but to no avail.
And to continue... You are unhappy, bored all your life and you're trying to find fullfilment but cant find none. You try to impress people but you know for a fact they cant be impressed by you. You like to think of yourself as a savant but deep down inside you know you're no good.
Again, be happy with what you have and accept who you are. Stop being self delusional and maybe, just maybe, things will start coming your way.

I guess someone here thinks they are high and mighty. Either that or they have taken way too many drugs in their life. Or maybe you wanted to be a psychologist or psychiatrist but just could not make it.

What the others said, figure out what you want to do before anything else.
And don't make a bot. This will make you a cheating, stealing scumbag. And that most certainly will only drag your life further downhill.
