The unabashed majority of Twitter posts have much more to do with their author than the subject matter in question, regardless of what the author would have you think. It's a mistake to forget that the underlying motivational force of Twitter is self-promotion and self-aggrandizement.

The tweet in question, as with most other tweets, is purely narcissistic and has no other redeeming quality. Its sole purpose is to conjure notoriety for its author. It's a small voice whose insecurity compels him to yell, "Look at me, I know something you don't know, I know something you don't know!"

Andypandyy comment is also quite unnerving. If I was ROW I would give sky a few more days to get this addressed or cash out.
Yes, it's possible that this tweet is just the tip of a deep, dark, evil conspiratorial iceberg. But considering the lack of given information and the shameless self-promotion history of the author, I'm inclined to wait for further context.
And besides, if he was "protecting a friend", don't you think it more prudent to simply refrain from posting baseless, unevidenced rumor that could portend his friend's termination or worse, while at the same time offering no help or information to the general public whatsoever?
No, I consider it much more likely that the motive behind the tweet was that unshakeable feeling of insecurity or insignificance on the part of the poor author. Poor guy, the world just isn't giving him the recognition he deserves. Now at least everyone knows that HE won't be playing there any longer, and how much better off we all are with that knowledge.
