This is ridiculous but it shouldn't come as a surprise.

I tried to explain to people that Everleaf was going down this road when they increased rake to levels never before seen in Online Poker.

As long as players continue to play at Everleaf they will continue to make these decisions as they don't see any consequences to their actions.

NOTE: I think these decisions are mainly from the Network and not from the skins that most of us play on. MintedNeil has done an outstanding job. To be honest, I wish they would leave the Everleaf Network along with a few other skins to start their own Poker Network(or an existing Network) that they would have more control over, though I realize this isn't going to happen!

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. If you look at the decisions Everleaf has made recently it's clear that they do not care about winning players.

Hi

This change is a NETWORK wide change.

To put it into context, less than 0.004% of the entire player pool will be affected by this change. It is this 0.004% of the player pool that accounts for over 50% of the net win on the entire network.

Minted are in no way attempting to justify this decision however we are bound by the rules of the network and will embrace this change for better or for worse.

All of you, who fall into the remaining 99.996% of the player pool, will have easier games.

Regards
Neil

It's a shame that Everleaf continues to make these decisions while it's pretty evident that some of their largest skins disagree with the decisions.

Neil you've been great and I respect you a TON, but unfortunately I'd previously decided to stop playing at Minted Poker because of your Networks decisions. This is just another justification that I made the right choice. I'd love to play at Minted Poker and for a site that you represent but the decisions the Network are making are clearly not the right decision for me and a lot of other players.

I hope in the future you realize that Everleaf's ideals and business plan does not match Minted Poker's ideals and look to switch Networks or join with a few other Everleaf skins to start an independant Network.

everleaf probably having liquidity issues like FTP. can't afford to pay out big winners if they keep winning at the current rate.

I hate to say this, but it's possible the decisions that Bodog and Everleaf are making may HELP the US poker player. These decisions may help the other Networks gain needed traffic and player liquidity.

This is a very very important time in the Poker world for US players and we may see the other Networks grow to a decent size.

What help is that though, if one US skin loses all their traffic and just moves to another? IMO, same traffic just floating around in a big circle...

The reason more people aren't winning is because the rake is so ridiculously high. I find it hard to believe that only that many players win still but you guys have the numbers. I'd have to believe that that fraction of a percent of people also pay the most rake and put in the most volume as well. It's just not profitable for the regulars to be trading money back and forth with with 6% rake and 5 euro cap.

First, let me say I don't think this recent trend is a good thing for iPoker if it continues with other Networks. I should have phrased that differently and made it clear that only if these 2 Networks are the only ones that made the changes. I think there could be atleast something good come out of these changes for US players as long as these changes remain isolated to these 2 Networks.

I understand what your saying but for arguments sake if we combined the traffic at Bodog, Everleaf, and Merge then that would make for a decent sized Network. A lot of US players aren't playing iPoker because the Tournaments aren't large like they were on FTP or PS. Others aren't playing online because they don't feel they can get enough volume on a single Network.

I think increasing the traffic with the existing players to one or two Networks would help start a domino affect where we could see some of the players that left post Black Friday return.

Obviously, just having all the traffic on one Network would be a good starting point, IMO.

NOTE: the example above is extreme and just for arguments sake. I realize that not all are going to leave and not all are going to go to the largest US Network. Again, that was just to give an example of how I think it COULD help.

I think a mahor current issue is the fact that FTP went down....alot of US players are afraid to play on a single network, fearing the same could happen to theirt funds on that network. If it happened to FTP, which was the second largest entity out there, it can def happen to one of these small skins or networks. Unitl poker is regulated (ie: heavily taxed), its going to be tough to get anything really rolling. And even after that, then what happens? It may not even be profitable anymore, because of the taxation that you know is going to accompany any regulation. Thanks DOJ, and USA, for butting into yet another place where you shouldn't even be interested in. I live in the US, and for us to think we are the world police, its sickening.
