Interesting - I'd suggest checking your other stats - VPIP, avg pot, etc. My understanding is that the formula is identical between the two, so it's entirely how much you're contributing to the rake that determines VPP. So if you're getting double the VPPs, you'd be contributing twice the amount to rake.
So either you're playing more pots, or you're playing bigger pots...
