Hi.

I have a question.

Do poker players normally use Neteller and Skrill?
Or any other payment method and withdrawal?

Isn't it dangerous to use those e-wallets, like are they serious companies?

How can you know that your money is safe when they are in a e-wallet?

I have transfered over 20.000$ back and fourth on those e-wallets without problems, but im still worried everytime that they will just take my money.

If someone is taking your money it's going to be some hacker from eastern europe. Not neteller that owns both of these companies.

I would say its more likely your bank would take your money before Neteller/Skrill did.

Would like to know why you consider skrill and neteller to be so safe?

Thanks also for the replies.

To begin with neteller and skrill are the same company owned by Paysafe Group. I just think if a company is listed to stox exchange it's safe to use. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paysafe_Group

The only issue I have with Skrill is that it only takes my password to log in and make transfers (my email is kinda public). That's not very safe.

I have had difficulties with Paysafe living up to its agreements and have severed my merchant relationships with them.

Because they are owned by a "serious" company?
I mean it's the same way with banks, paypal, pokersites or having your money stuffed in socks. Either of those could be compromised. Just don't have all of your eggs in the same basket.

There were a few issues. I was set up with a merchant account and accepted Neteller for payments in my store cart. The straw was when I was notified that Neteller would no longer do any US dollar transactions and I needed a foreign bank account for any withdraws. This was without any prior warning whatsoever and I had zero opportunity to get the funds out in dollars.

This seemed very bizarre as Skrill was supposedly still doing US Dollar transactions.

My opinion of my experience with both Neteller and Skrill customer and merchant service has been horrible.

Neteller/skrill/ecopayz and other similar sites, they suck, commissions are very high, fx fee is high, they also block you from time to time whenever they want. if you are able to transfer your money using other methods, do it. I still use them just because i have to.

I live in Australia and have played on PokerStars for a long time. I recently tried to withdraw funds for the first time in awhile. Only options on Stars are Neteller and Skrill. I've registered with both and tried to verify my account and get stuck at both. They make it virtually impossible to do so due to technical restrictions. I've now transferred my funds from PokerStars to Skrill (because Stars now cannot send money to an Australian credit card even though they can accept money from one AND they say they can no longer make bank transfers to my Australian bank account). My money is now stuck in Skrill and there is no way of contacting them. There is no email address provided on their website whatsoever. I'm totally shocked at this situation. Essentially PokerStars is crippled in it's ability to pay out funds and most people playing on it don't know because they never try withdraw. BTW I've tried 2 different browsers and even 2 different computers to no avail. Their verification process simply will not complete as it says it will. Has anyone found a way to get their account verified on Skrill recently? Thank you.

How are you able to send funds to an unverified account, and why on earth would you do so?

As for contacting them, a quick Google search found me this:

Anyone having issue with getting a call back from Neteller recently ? .. after 10 plus years of using them they blocked my account and now I have to wait for a call back, remember that happening before and I was called within 15 minutes,

Now hear its days? (so far 1 for me)

The call back thing is pointless. Last time i requested one they never called ended up getting a email regarding the subject about 10 days later. Call them yourself or email them. Last time i emailed them they replied within 1 hour and the situation was rectified.

I agree, the call back is a waste of time. Better to look up their contact numbers and initiate the call to them.

I've noticed lately that several sites suddenly stopped processing Skrill withdrawals, even though it was still available as a deposit option. Netbet is one of those sites. Support says it's a technical reason, however I suspect Skrill are continually having challenges in certain regions with AML etc.

So I guess like other posters have said, they are reliable to a point, just manage your balances sensibly and diversify your methods as much as possible.
