Mod's pls don't delete this as this is an extremely legitimate question. I want to know if there's still a possibility to make 2k-4k/mo playing poker online with the sites currently available to Americans.

Any Americans out there doing that?

Yes, you just need to multisite so that you constantly have checks coming in.

I'm wondering if only the top 10% of players are making that income. I don't think more is even possible with the current traffic that pokerscout.com lists for those sites.

That or do a lot of trades on here, I personally made a little over $3k in January and got a majority of it off by trading other than withdrawing direct from the site.

more than 4k/month is certainly possible from bovada. shouldnt even be hard if you made a living off poker pre-bf and have an open schedule.

I hear Bovada is soft but wondered how the anonymity aspect of it would affect winnings. Thx for the insight tho.

Easily, even if you don't live in a regulated state.

Is it possible to live decently in US with 2k/mo?
Even with 4k/mo?
(I live in europe so I have no idea about US lifestyle)

The question is not if it can be done. The question is can you do it?

It's been a few years since I've made my living playing poker on stars and full tilt. I haven't physically seen any of the current traffic on the poker sites so don't even know if there's enough games at the appropriate stakes to make a decent living.

That's why I asked.

It's always been the top 10% making that income. I agree with JimAfternoon that multisiting is crucial these days.

If you're a winning player and put in the volume 2k a month is doable. If you could make 4kmonth on average you wouldnt have to even ask this question.

edit-Sure making 4k a month is possible but those are the really good players who would already know they can make that not you =).

jerk response, but probably correct. I used to make around 3k while half assing it without much of an understanding of the pt and hud displays I was using. I could have done a much better job of perfecting my craft but was lazy. I know the games are harder now & it would take quite the effort to get better than I was before.

We'll see if i'm the fish or not.

all in all i cant say any of the current us sites are "soft" compared to the others. i remember people saying ps is soft compared to ft and so on but wherever theres money to be made there will be tough competition. and every site with decent traffic has plenty of amateurs. i think people like to call sites soft or full of donks, fish etc. to feel better about themselves more than anything.

since i've started playing full time(ish) again in oct. i've averaged 2k/month and live in hollywood which is fairly expensive for america. i also have a kid part time so i only work 17-20 days/month and get by, but i can cook and stretch a dollar. it's definetely possible but its not baller.

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far is as needed?

Yes, but it's a brutal grind and pretty much most of the easy money has dried up a long time ago. Sure there are recreational players (like what I've become) that will play, and donk off a few bills and not be too sad about it because it's a hobby. But the days of spewtards donating stacks at 400NL and 1000NL are long gone. Even the low stakes these days are majority decent regs.

If you were truly motivated, and had the bankroll and skills to grind 3K+ a month consistently, you'd probably already being doing it. Starting now in the current climate of US-facing sites or even "coming back to poker" just cause you were a "baller" pre Black Friday is mostly likely not going to end well for anyone if they think they can just jump right in and grind a comfortable full-time living these days. But good luck to ya

I can sleepwalk my way to 48k playing live in the USA..Why in the world would you opt to brutally grind out less playing online?
