Cake Network Software Concerns

So I work online as a freelancer from time to time, and I noticed that Cake Network allows people to design their own poker software to hook into their network. Great idea because you can have a lot of players right away.

My concern is that I see people on these freelance sites hiring people to design features for the poker sites, and even make the site software Mac compatible.

I trust the poker network to do its part to keep cheating to a minimum, but what is keeping someone like a freelancer from programming the software with a backdoor or something?

Makes me think that a network like Pokerstars that is exclusive might be safer. Any thoughts?

The project that sparked the worry in my mind is:

They must have some sort of review or standards system in place for connecting to their network right?
